Save File Gone (PC/Steam)

I have had it installed since the first episode came out and have not touched it since I finished the first episode. Then I boot it up to start the second episode and my save file is gone! I REALLY don't want to replay episode one at the moment.

I'm having the same issue, Played the first Episode in November 2014 and now my save is not recognised by the game, although it is in its location on my harddrive.

Can you please clarify if your game updated with the latest patch necessary for playing Episode 2? If you can, please try Verifying your Game Cache, then restart the game and see if you are then able to see your save files in-game.

  • Yep, fully patched, game files 100% verified. Still nothing.

If you are still experiencing the issue, please try uninstalling and re-installing the game from Steam (Right click game from within your Steam Library, and click 'Delete Local Content' then re-install the game) and before clicking 'Play' make sure that the latest update for the game downloads successfully, then start the game, and your save files should be restored.

  • Tried this. Didn't work.

After looking over your Support Tool information, it appears that you have Steam installed to your D:\ drive, while your save file directory is in the default location (C:\ drive). I recommend either installing an instance of Steam on your C:\ drive, then installing Tales From The Borderlands to the same drive, and then start the game, or copying the 'Tales From The Borderlands' folder from

    C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\Telltale Games\

And creating an identical file directory on your D:\ drive, then place that folder there, and you should then be able to start the game, and see your save files successfully.

If you are still affected by this issue, could you please zip the 'Tales From The Borderlands' folder I mentioned above, and upload it to a file hosting website? I could then download it and pass it along to the team for further investigation into the root cause of the issue. You can use the same process as the Support Tool uploading, then copy and paste the download link. Thank you in advance if you are able to help out. (You can also send the download link to the files in a Private Message to me if you rather.)
