Voice Audio is Missing - Episode 3
So I'm playing this on PC. There is no voice audio from some of the characters. I didn't even get 2 minutes into Episode 3 before experiencing this. I went back started a new save file and played episode 1 and 2, audio works just fine.
Even stranger, I was going to attempt to play Ep 3 while streaming although I didn't hear the voice audio my stream did. Restarted the game several times, restarted Steam several times and last attempt restarted my PC several times. Same problems.
Much disappoint.Such rage.

I apologize for the inconvenience. Can you please clarify when you downloaded the game? Are you using headphones or speakers, and do you currently have your sound outputting in Stereo (Left and Right), or a Surround Sound mode such as 2.1 or 5.1 Surround Sound?
Could you please read this Sticky on how to run our Support Tool, and follow the steps to run the tool, and reply here with the download link copied and pasted into a reply. You can find the Sticky here:

After receiving the information from your support tool, I will be able to assist you further.
The original game I download whenever Ep. 1 came out. Ep. 3 automatically downloaded this past Wednesday (3/25) when I logged into Steam. I have output going to both my headset and speakers with surround sound 5.1. Episodes 1 and 2 play just fine. Just missing voice audio from some characters, but not others.

I have the same problem. Sound works well in ep. 1 and 2, and it mostly works in ep. 3, but there is no voice at all for Malcolm Branfield (it works in episodes 1 and 2, though). I too downloaded the original game from Steam when ep. 1 came out, and got update containing ep. 3 today (Mar 28).
I've tried checking integrity of game cache in Steam, and it says that all files successfully passed the check.

I have the same problem I can play with sound to scene with Cersei and then nothing and later only scene in Ironrath with Gryff Whithehill and after that again no sound.
wrong post
No audio on Xbox one version either, re downloaded and installed over five times. Still no audio at all, fundamentally broken and disgusting support for it so far from Telltale. You wouldn't sell a car missing a wheel so why release a game that doesn't work? Response from support or a refund please. I won't be paying for another Telltale game again after this.
Bad development with cowardly support.
I'm a little annoyed that the game has been out since Tuesday and the audio issue hasn't been addressed. It's such a shame to have this cool surprise in the scene with Asher in the cave, only to not be fully immersed due to lack of sound. I'm completely thrown off by this and it isn't something I can just ignore. A few characters I can hear, but background music is completely gone. I just downloaded the game today on PS4 (3/29 @ 5:30pm) and all I have to say is the absence of audio is extremely disappointing.
No one is perfect, but I expect Telltale to release a fully functioning game that I can enjoy, considering I've already paid my money. You guys are too big of a gaming company to let something like this slip through the cracks. As usual, Telltale is being tight-lipped and as far as I can tell, nothing is being done to correct the problem. I'm slowly but surely losing faith in the company. These problems on top of game release delays have frustrated me beyond belief (yes, I'm still bitter about the LATE ASS releases of some of TWD episodes).
Anyway, I'm not a happy camper right now and hopefully the problem is resolved soon, or else I'm gonna give up on Telltale all together.
I sincerely apologize for any difficulties caused by this. I have made sure to pass all of your information along to the team for further investigation into the issue. Can you please clarify if after you experience the issue, that you are able to rewind to the beginning of the episode, then play through that scene again, and the sound issue is resolved? Or, does it still occur the second time through? (Before uninstalling and re-installing the game.)
I have played through a second time and the same characters are missing the audio for dialogue.
I have rewound ep. 3 to the beginning, and the issue is still there. In fact, in my case it appears at the very beginning of the episode, in the first dialogue between Malcolm and Asher - background sounds and Asher's voice are there, but the voice of Malcolm is still missing.
If you need any other info about my system or game setup, or want me to do some test cases, please let me know. I'll do my best to help you locating and fixing this issue.
Thank you for providing the extra information, I will make sure to pass it along to the team for further investigation.
Just a little note to make the problem a bit more clear...
I temporarily switched sound from Creative SoundBlaster Z to on-board Realtek ALC892 sound chip, and the issue had gone. Moreover, I encountered no-voice-sound problem with SoundBlaster Z in some more games, such as Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell. Looks like it is a bug in Creative sound driver, or some incompatibility of sound libraries with Creative hardware. Anyway, I don't think that this problem.should be addressed to Telltale guys.
...And finally, it looks like I resolved my issue. In my case, it had been caused by wrong sound settings - I have 2.1 sound system, but in Creative control panel sound mode was set to 5.1 (probably it had been reset during driver update or something). I switched it back to 2.1, and now all ingame voices work very well, even on Creative sound card.
Thank you for providing the extra information on how you were able to resolve your issue, and which sound setting worked for you! I hope you are now able to enjoy the game!
I've got exactly the same problem.
I also tested episode 1 to find out if there are more missing voice sounds, Gared has no voice the moment he leaves Ironrath for The Wall.
It's 2,5 months since your post and it's still not fixed?
A patch/update was released that should resolve this particular issue. Please make sure that you have downloaded and installed the latest Updated Critical PC/Mac Patch available for the game. After it has been installed, then start the game again, and you should be able to start the game successfully, and not experience this issue anymore.
I have the same problem with the supporting character's voice missing in the first scene on Episode 3 after the audio has played fine throughout Episodes 1 and 2... The sound on my PC is fine and I'm running a GTX 980. When I try to download the Critical PC/Mac Patch mentioned above, I get a popup saying that my game is already up to date.
Can you please clarify what you have your sound output currently set to in-game? Is it possibly set to 5.1 Surround Sound? If so, I recommend try changing it to Stereo (Left and Right Speakers) and see if you are then able to hear the sound correctly.
