For people who have played the previous Borderlands games, I have a question: Do you need to play Borderlands 1 in order to understand Borderlands 2? From what I've heard, the first Borderlands doesn't have much of a story compared to Borderlands 2, and I'd rather not waste what little money I have on a game that I probably won't end up liking. So should I but the first one or am I okay with just getting the second game (not interested in the pre-sequel currently, don't have that much money)?

Apparently UPS has no issue shipping severed heads.

No. You'll understand the characters better but I wouldn't waste your time the first one was pretty disappointing.
