I apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately save games are incompatible between separate platforms. You will need to play Season One on the PS4 in order to import save files into Season Two on PS4.

  • You realise this is bullshit, right?I paid a lot of money for these games.I expect more than "I'm sorry, but I can't help you." I shouldn't be punished for wanting to play games on the latest console. The data from the game should be cross-compatible.
I want a reasonable solution for this problem.

My apologies, unfortunately at this time, there have been no plans announce to include a cross-platform save transfer functionality. I will make sure to pass your interest along to the team!

  • If you can't transfer data across a network,it really makes me wonder what point there is in telling your team anything. When I bought the first season,it was only available on PS3.You didn't make it clear anywhere on the packaging that the data wasn't cross compatible with the latest consoles.
I'm not asking you to make the entire game cross compatible but you should have been aware that it might be a problem and made it more obvious. You have to admit, this a big problem that will affect a lot of people.

I have to agree with laurie9910. How did Telltalegames not anticipate this being an issue? I now have a PS4 that I want to play Season 2 on, but I have to play it on my old PS3? This makes absolutely no sense. I was going to buy the new season tonight, but I can't because I have to download it on my PS3, which is at my parents' house. This is very bad business move on the part of your company, really. I probably just won't bother getting the new game now, because I don't have immediate access to my PS3 anymore and I don't want to "re-start" the game without all my progress up-to-date being integrated into the upcoming season(s). I don't understand why this isn't even mentioned on the FAQ portion of the game's site... I feel like it will be a VERY big issue in the future (if not already), as more people upgrade to PS4 and XBOX One from their previous consoles. I'm not happy about this at all.

  • Honestly,I don't think they didn't foresee the problem.I guess they want us to buy it on every platform.
Terrible business practice.Way to stick it to your customers,Telltale.

  • Nothing on PS3 is cross-compatible by default with PS4. You shouldn't assume something that isn't advertised.

  • I'm not talking about the game being cross compatible. I'm talking about the data.It gets sent to a server so it should be cross compatible.

  • I don't recall this game as having an online requirement, so the game must be able to be played offline and data for saves would be saved locally and read by the game data, not a server.

I know a couple people who've played the PS3 game 100% offline via the disc with the PS3 never being connected to a network.

  • That has no significance to what I'm saying.
It's not that hard to send data from one network to another network and that's they need to be able to do to make the data cross compatible between PS3 and PS4.Again,I'm not saying the game has to cross compatible but data should be able to be sent across a network fairly easily.

  • Who among us that has purchased and played through Season 1 on PS3 would be willing to spend the time and money to do it again on PS4? There is an obvious workaround. If "save games are incompatible between separate platforms," then instead of telling the customer "Season 1 choices will be randomly generated for you to begin your story" upon starting Season 2 on the PS4, offer the option of manually inputting Season 1 choices in a software update.
