Help! My save files got deleted twice!

I am really mad for this to happen twice..! I was playing chapter 4 in Season 2 and when I was about to look for Bonnie and Mike the game gave me a message with ''Save File is corrupt. It will be recreated.''

I was able to walk further and just before entering the next area the game froze. I had to restart my PS3 and the game and well what do you know? My save file is gone...

This didn't stop me from retrying so I replayed the whole thing and today the same thing happened at the exact same moment in the game....

Please, tell me how to fix this. I am planning to go back to the store and reclaim my 20 bucks but I'd rather play this game without this nonsense.

I apologize for the inconvenience. Can you please clarify if you were playing the game straight through in one sitting when you experienced the issue twice, or did you play the game in multiple sittings, closing the game, and re-loading your saves every now and then? Also, when you start the game, can you please clarify if you can access your save files from the Save Files menu in the main menu, or do you become stuck in the Save Files menu?

  • I don't get all the jargin, but put it in English. You are saying I should go back, buy Episode 1 again, replay it for a third time. Then replay episode two again and hope I don't lose my save? I had one save. It's there in the data. Why isn't accessible anymore in the game slots? I was probably 5 minutes from finishing the 5th episode of Season 2 and now it acts like I just installed it! I like the game but it isn't fast enough to just redo the whole thing. I'm pissed.

You should not need to re-purchase any episodes that you have already purchased and played. Unfortunately if you are no longer able to access your save files from Episode 5, can you please clarify if you are able to access them in the Save Files menu from the Main Menu? Or when you access the save files menu, do you become stuck in that screen? If you become stuck in the screen, and do not see your proper save files in there, your save files may have become corrupted, and you will need to start a new game. This can happen if you ever exited/closed the game, or turned off your console, during an autosaving or loading sequence. If you are unable to start a new game because of the issue, you will need to delete your old Save Data from the Save Data Utility menu on your PS3's menu. (You can find it by scrolling up on the Games tab from the main menu of your PS3.)

  • Well, what I mean by repurchasing is I traded in Season One when I got Season 2. I don't have the disc. If the save file doesn't transfer from Season 1 this time due to a corruption, then I'm screwed. Plus, I was literally one minute from the end and didn't turn off during a save. Just hit pause same as always during a conversation and the unit shut off before I continued, which is nothing new either. If I was on the second episode, it wouldn't be too bad, but the last little scene before the credits on the final episode? That's rough. Anyway, you're saying it's lost then. There is saved data file, but nothing from game menu.
