Is this a glitch or am I doing something wrong?

I did everything up to the siege. LeChuck is now shooting the cannon and I have to sneak through the blockade. I have tried it and I get through the blockade just fine but McGillicutty never shows. I end up back on my ship sailing around to nowhere in particular and when I try to go back to jerk bait islands Van Winslow says something like "not in that blockade" and I get stuck sailing around in circles with nowhere to go.

    Have you tried visiting the other small islands in the area?

    I don't think it's a glitch. I remember being there and having to do something on one of the small islands.

    Just a thought...
    The two pirates who originally had the sea-horse artifiact.... where did they go after they ran off the beach?

    I suppose they could have gone anywhere, but a little thought should bring the answer..... but just in case....
    Perhaps they went to double check on the treasure they buried
