Game of Thrones Android Error Unknown error code during application install: "-505"
I purchased Game of Thrones on Android today. After the purchase went through it starts downloading files (the 0.9gb obb files). After it downloads that it downloads some additional files which I'm assuming is the actual apk file. Once that gets done and it begins installing till about 33% then it gives me a message: Error Unknown error code during application install: "-505"
I have a LG G3 OS 5.0 and it's not rooted.

Thread: Cannot install Game of Thrones Android
I purchased Game of Thrones on Android yesterday. After the purchase went through it starts downloading files (the 0.9gb obb files). After it downloads that it downloads some additional files, I'm assuming the actual .apk. Once that gets done and it begins installing it gives me a message:
I've tried to install it a thousand times. I've tried deleting the downloaded obb files, I've tried clearing Play Services and Play Store data, I've reset a million times, and I asked a ghost from the afterlife for help with my Ouija board...nothing.
I have the Nexus 7(2013) with Android 5.0.2. It's rooted.
The game installed on the first try on my Galaxy Note 4.
Can you please clarify if you are attempting to download it to your internal storage, or to an external SD Card? Please note that the game application was only designed to work when installed internally, and will not work when downloaded and installed to an SD Card.
If you are downloading to your internal storage, please make sure that you have adequate internal storage space for the entire download to complete, and that you are connected to a strong WiFi network during the download/install process.
I also have gotten this problem. It downloads all the data and then starts installing, but when it reaches about 33% it gives me this error Error Unknown error code during application install: "-505"
I have a LG G3 and it's not rooted.
My apologies, could you please clarify how much space you have left on your device's internal memory? Also, are you seeing this error message when you download the app from the Google Play App Store, or when you attempt to download an episode from within the application?
I have 3 GB of space left on my phone and the message comes up when I download the app from the Google Play App Store.
My apologies, unfortunately you will need to contact Google Play Support for further assistance with this issue if you are experiencing it when downloading from the Google Play App Store, and they should be able to assist you with that particular error message.
I got it to work by doing a factory reset on my phone and now it works like a dream! Thanks for the help.
Thank you for providing the extra information on how you were able to resolve your issue. I hope this did not cause too many difficulties for you, and I hope you are now able to enjoy the game!
Edit: Can you please clarify if you had multiple User Accounts on your Android device when you saw this error message appear?
Mike ,do you mind to check my post ? Thanks https://www.telltalegames.com/support/discussion/95680/episode-4-available-for-android-but-can-t-download
Nope I just had 1 user account on my Android device when I saw this error.
Can u play or download the episode 4?
@Sheriff_Bigby_Wolf Thank you for providing the extra information, I will make sure to pass it along to the team! I recommend following the steps in This Article to clear the data/cache of your Google Play Services, then try downloading and installing the game application again.
Thread: Can't download game on Google Play
On my Galaxy S6 Edge (SM-G925T) on 5.1.1 I purchased GoT and the data (obb) file downloads fine, but the actual 40mb application installs then gives me this error.
I requested a refund from Google Play, but I still want to play the game, y'know?
Google also said that it's something on your side because every other app I install works fine. Also every other TT game works fine and actually runs at 60fps all the way through, this is the fastest phone in the world, I'm sure its good enough.
@telltalemike
My apologies, I recommend following the steps in This Article to clear the data/cache of your Google Play Services, then try downloading and installing the game application again from the Google Play Store.
Same error code.
Is your device currently rooted, or running any third-party ROMs or mods? Also, is another Telltale game app running in the background when attempting to download and install this game?
Not rooted, completely stock, and I have Tales on my EdgE as well but it isn't running.
I recommend contacting Google Play Support directly for further assistance with this particular error message, as the Base Game application download and install is done through Google Play's storefront/servers.
Is it possible in any way for you to provide the actual APK file? I spoke with Google and they said that their servers are not the issue, and there must be something wrong with the configuration of your APK files and that I should contact you to see if you can provide the actual APK.
My apologies, unfortunately we do not have the ability to provide APK files directly. I recommend try force closing any and all game applications that are currently open on your device, then turn off your device for 5-10 minutes to allow the device's cache to clear. Then after turning your device back on, try clearing the data/cache of your Google Play Services using the link above one more time. Then try downloading and installing the game app again, and you should be able to successfully download and play the game.
Tried what you said and it still didn't work. Same error. This is really dissapointing, but Google has issue me a refund (I still have the game license though) and I don't think theres anything else I can do, unless you have any more suggestions or until your team updates/fixes the APK.
My apologies, unfortunately I am out of potential solutions for you to resolve this issue. If you would like further assistance, you can contact/email our Support Staff at Support@Telltalegames.com, and they will try to assist you further with your particular issue. Please make sure to include the potential solutions that you have already tried, in the email to Support.
Mod Edit thanks for the support and bearing with me through this!
You're welcome, enjoy the game!
