Minecraft Story.

I know this is irrelevant, but what's your opinion on it? I think Telltale could have use this time really well developing TWAU season 2 instead and I think that's how most people feel. The trailer had a bunch of dislikes, I think it's because they'd rather see TWAU season 2 or simply don't like Minecraft.

  • As you said - many people don't like Minecraft. I, myself, would rather see TWAU S2 being worked on or TftB. However, I'm not going to judge them. They do what they think is best and that's good. In fact, I liked the trailer. I thought it's going to be bad, but it shows quite a lot of promise.

I'll play the game, and I'm pretty sure I will enjoy it. It's a shame that there still aren't any news about TWAU, but, well.. gotta have faith.

  • I agree, it is a bit to early to judge. I think people are skeptical because minecraft doesn't really have much of a story to the base game. Telltale are brave like that though, they take risks.

  • Well, it can be seen as a business move too - Minecraft is still a gold mine, so whoever creates official lore first, gets to reap the fruits :)

  • In no shape way or form is Minecraft preventing more Wolf Among Us. That said, I would still prefer Wolf S2 over Minecraft.

  • They could have use more of their resources on TWAU season 2. But let's hope this is good, I really don't want it to be a mediocre game.

  • I think that there is no news about season 2 from one simple reason and it is that they are waiting for end of Fables in July.

Hopefully, but I'm not holding my breathe on it. But I do have a weird feeling it's going to get announced shortly have fables, maybe to avoid breaking canon.

  • I hope if there ever will be season 2 that it will feature multiple characters.

  • I wasn't thrilled by the trailer, but I'll still play the game from start to finish.

    TWAU S2 requires dedication :)

  • As much as I normally try to avoid closing threads that have constructive criticism of Telltale (that adheres to the Forum Guidelines), I can't help but feel that this thread is just yet another thinly veiled way to complain about the existence of Minecraft: Story Mode.

It's happening, and it does not detract from the possibility of Wolf Among Us: Season 2 (which has not even been announced) in anyway whatsoever. Even if Telltale had not announced Minecraft: Story Mode, they would sooner make another original game before returning to the Wolf Among Us/Fables universe.

When Wolf Among Us launched alongside Season 2 of Walking Dead (after Wolf haas already been announced at the same time as the first Season of Walking Dead, before being delayed to include the Walking Dead choice based gameplay), people had similar complaints that Wolf Among Us was "hogging resources from Walking Dead: Season 2." Even though Wolf Among Us fans got the short end of the stick with a four month wait between Episodes 1 and 2, Walking Dead fans would still accuse Wolf of being nothing more than a burden on Telltale that needed to be removed.

However, once people actually tried the game, they liked it and now regard it with nearly as much praise as they do Walking Dead. Sometimes, perhaps some fans don't always see the full picture right away. Obviously, I'm not insinuating Minecraft is going to be another Wolf Among Us situation where the current fan base comes around since Telltale is aiming for an entirely different audience, but that's not the point. Rather, what I'm saying is that I don't like users promoting the idea that a game and it's fan base need to be scapegoated. It doesn't make for good discussion, and it only serves to fracture the community. If you don't like Minecraft, that's fine and we don't want to stop people from being critical, but at the same time this scapegoating of Minecraft and its fan base is starting to chafe me.
