The Gared and Mira parts irritated me too (Mira is my favorite character, and how the hell is the North Grove going to be of any use if we haven't even found it yet and we have one episode to go?), but I could forgive it if Episode 6 has a lot more of them. The ending I honestly didn't find to be as great as everyone says it was, even if it was pretty good. The traitor though, just made absolutely no sense. I guess Duncan is just finding the North Grove for the lolz? I guess all the anti-White Hill hate speech that Royland has been spewing for the past 4 episodes meant nothing?
Agreed. The only thing of note of this episode is the ending, and that doesn't save the episode completely.
Of course, Gared and Mira's p… morearts being totally underwhelming didn't help.
I was afraid I had hyped myself up too much and that's why I didn't enjoy the episode, but glad to see other people have this opinion too.
One of the things Royland said to me among :you didn't pick me" was that it was for the greater good, he is protecting the house. That right there seems to me to be way more of a Maester card than Duncan or Royland.
Fucking hell. I chose every damn peaceful, nonviolent option under the sun - let Gryff & Co. shit all over the Ironrath, didn't lay a fi… morenger on him or his idiots despite the soul-devouring temptation, stayed as calm/nice as possible while discussing with Ludd and Ramsay.
AND DUNCAN COMPLAINED ABOUT RODRIK BEING A MAN OF VIOLENCE.
fucking wat???
Mira is my favourite too, and after playing the game of thrones during the coronation feast, I was expecting so much more of her. Such a disappointment. This and the sloppy traitor business were what really broke this episode for me.

It was definitely the worst episode so far.
Considering we have only 3 playable characters now, and Gared has no way of being very useful because of 1. being disconnected from House Forrester by the wall and 2. I don't know how the "North Grove" could be useful whatsoever in the space of one episode, I'm hoping that it's an episode big on Mira and isn't solely focusing on Rodrik/Asher

Yep, the result of the whole traitor "twist" is something worthy of M. Night Shyamalan. Killed the ending for me, which I felt would have been great if I wasn't thinking about how Duncan/Royland have this Character shift that felt out of place and made no sense. I think they were trying to shock people (As Game of Thrones loves to do) but your choice of Sentinel being the traitor as ANOTHER character that died was not the way to go.
It felt like Duncan was ranting to Ethan as Lord when he knew he was talking to Rodrik as Lord. This well be the low-point of the series I suspect....
I'm confused about the results people are getting. I chose Royland, and Duncan was the traitor. Is it possible for Royland to be both Sentinel AND traitor?

Also if Duncan asks Gared to find the north grove to save the house, why the hell would he betray the Forresters?Royland,Ortergryn and even lady Forrester had motives but Duncan becoming traitor is really stupid.
But surely the choice of Ethan, a mere child who then died a few days later, should be attributed to the entire House, and they should be be… moretrayed from within for the sake of....protecting it.
Royland being the traitor is a thousand times better in my book than Duncan with his Grove Knowledge. But Royland's a better soldier for the war ahead. Damn it.
Yeah, that was stupid. I know they wanted choices to matter, but the outcome of the traitor was not a good decision for the story. It's one thing for a character to act towards a person, whether hostle or passive, based on decisions, but to shift their loyalty based on a single decision is a little difficult to grasp. And the fact that it will happen to either of the two is just down right dumb.
You have comments all over these forums that are full of constant complaining, especially about the latest episode. You have dozens of comments telling people not to expect anything great and "hopping on" people about them liking the episode, challenging them on parts that they felt were great. We get it, you didn't like the episode.
I want Gared around. Like, I don't care for the plot hole they'll need to do for this. We can't lose ANOTHER playable character! Perhaps I like him too much...
Gared's storyline this episode consisted of standing by a fire and fighting off a few dead women, before running off into the woods. Very disappointing... but I'm assuming he'll have a lot of screen time next episode, considering he's one of two non-determinant characters left.

It's not constant complaining in threads that have asked what we liked or didn't like about the episode. I haven't hopped on anyone that hasn't replied to my own original comments. And complaining about 1 episode isn't complaining about everything

I don't think I would have been as upset about it if they had just had Talia come out and say it. I was pretty sure it was Duncan/Royland based on whoever is not your sentinel, but I was still holding out for something else. Then they do this long drawn out reveal and I was just "Get on with it!"

He's probably talking about Wolf, he's stated how he doesn't like it. Hell, I'm even wondering if there will ever be a game after TWD S1 that he'll actually like. Doubt it.

Wow, so who is the traitor really just came down to who we didn't pick as sentinel? Wow, just wow. When it was revealed I already threw down my bullshit card, and as he explained his reasoning (Royland) it made no god damned sense given what he's said/done!!!
Rodrik and Talia playing the pronoun game was bad enough, but then for the traitor to have been... this? Damn it TellTale... why is it we can come up with better ideas then this? Do they not remember what it is they strive for? Good storytelling! Hodor could have come up with a better idea then it simply be 'not your sentinel'!!!

I would rather see comments criticizing the game for what it really is than see comments from people who eat anything that is thrown at them… more.
"The episode is poorly written because of X Y and Z" is better than "omg it made me cry 10/10" , "the episode is 10/10 because i liked it"
But most of the people doing it aren't rating it fairly or justly and are only rating the end instead of rating the episode as a whole. It's in their right but it's still not very thorough
I would rather see comments criticizing the game for what it really is
That's all a matter of opinion.
than see comments from … morepeople who eat anything that is thrown at them.
That's a mildly offensive thing to say.
"the episode is 10/10 because i liked it"
That's again a matter of opinion. If someone loves an episode, they're going to rate it highly.
holds back offended tone Thank you. Though I do not know how he'll get out of this, I do hope him being the character with the most screen time means something.

I think it wasn't that bad. They do their usual trick of coupling the Ethan decision with all your other choices and things that happened, just like they did in TWD S1, and I think that's the idea. Ethan's choice planted the seed of dissent in whoever he didn't pick. And that got swayed farther and farther to betrayal with every decision Roderick made. And now he's dead... well at least in my story...
holds back offended tone Thank you. Though I do not know how he'll get out of this, I do hope him being the character with the most screen time means something.

Yeah...My Rodrik had to slap him with his pimp hand to prevent his stupidity from infecting him after his fail traitor rant.
Mira is my favourite too, and after playing the game of thrones during the coronation feast, I was expecting so much more of her. Such a disappointment. This and the sloppy traitor business were what really broke this episode for me.
We don't know anything, alright?

Of course we don't. But i would be curious to know how on God's earth you expect Gared to get out of this ?
I'm confused about the results people are getting. I chose Royland, and Duncan was the traitor. Is it possible for Royland to be both Sentinel AND traitor?
No.
If you chose Royland as Sentinel, Duncan is your Traitor. & Vice versa.
Ahh, ok. Makes sense, I need to read better and not skim other comments then. 8D; Thanks.
It's determinant. Which really makes the reveal flat & lazy. Could have done better in the long run.
Also if Duncan asks Gared to find the north grove to save the house, why the hell would he betray the Forresters?Royland,Ortergryn and even lady Forrester had motives but Duncan becoming traitor is really stupid.
So you tried to show that Rodrik isn't violent by slapping him?
So that's the third game they've ruined. Which is next?
Three? I know you don't like S2 of TWD but what was the other one you think they ruined?
Yeah, that was stupid. I know they wanted choices to matter, but the outcome of the traitor was not a good decision for the story. Nope praised the last episode greatly so please hop off
Not at the expense of good storytelling they shouldn't.

Same. Don't really care if the plothole is so great it tears a hole in the GoT universe. I want Gared to live.
He's probably talking about Wolf, he's stated how he doesn't like it. Hell, I'm even wondering if there will ever be a game after TWD S1 that he'll actually like. Doubt it.
Meh I honestly find him to be a pretty forgettable character but I'll hope he survives for you guys

I'm sure he already has

He's the one with the most screen-time ? I could have sworn it was Rodrick... I suppose the fact that he was missing in episode 1 speaks for itself
Don't indulge him, dojo
It's always something with this guy
