Well, you just click the left button of the mouse and it will slowly go back in the time (you have a small icon that shows you how much have you rewound in the corner). You click left click and shift to go faster. You can see Max from the past doing what she was doing in the past (obviously.) You have marks on the icon when there's some choice so if you wanna rewind until that point. You can change choices and see what would happen if you did the other thing.
Also CTRL is for rewinding until the last decision, or thing you did. Hopefully you understood even a litte of what I wrote xD.
