Yup! As InGen said, Minecraft: Story Mode is not actually a "story mode" for Minecraft - it is an entirely seperate game that will play like other newer Telltale titles.
It will not play directly like Minecraft - it will play like a typical Telltale game that will use Minecraft worlds, characters, and themes.
Yeah the title is confusing minecraft players into thinking is an actual story mode of minecraft. I think Telltale should have given this another name.

The price hasn't been announced yet, as far as I know. It's likely to be close to the current Telltale usual price - $5 per episode, or $25 for the whole season.
