Deadly intent case 4

Hi,
Here's my problem: I got to the point where I'm supposed to ask Dr. Manoto if he tampered with the generator, but he doesn't accept any evidence that I have. The only odd thing in my inventory is the gas can, which I haven't finished processing (don't have a checkmark on it) and I don't know how to do it.
Please help.

You're on the right track. Careful examination of that gas can (and the evidence you find on it) is the key. If you need more help, I'll bust out some spoilers.

I will admit it took me a bit to find the "sweet spot" on the can. But it is there ;)

Can somebody tell me where is exactly that fingerprint on the gas can, the process is nerve racking, why the heck they made it so hard to find it?

Why doesn't the game is like in real life so I can dust the entire can till I find something?

If I don't find an answer soon, I'll uninstall the game, It's the most excruciating in the entire game.

Please PM me if you want spare my misery.

Orient the gas can so that the handle is at the top and the pour spout (where you can collect the gas) is on the left. The print is near the bottom, right along the inside of the bottom left tine of the "X" mark.
