Would want a hattrick backstab if you spared the traitor?

Royland:"i swore an oath to your father, i'd swear one to asher if he was here"
Rodrik:"Fine i'll spare you"
Rodrik Dies in ambush
Asher: "i'm the new lord"
Royland: "I swear my oath to you my lord"
Asher:"Fine then"
After final battle
Asher:"one last loose end"
Stabs royland through the chest

What do you think of that idea? sorry if it's phrased annoyingly/poorly im about to sleep.

  • It's makes sense for Royland for sure, but could I see Duncan doing this..?

  • To me it's out of character. Asher doesn't think--he acts. I think he'd kill Royland on the spot, whether it means one less soldier or not.

  • I think it only applies to Royland because he said that he would swear to Asher if he were there instead of Rodrik. I don't think Duncan says this line.

  • dosent make sense for duncan, duncan actually thought he is saving the family we know he cares about them because of the north grove, maybe he tried to buy time for garred holding the house from going to war as much as he can
