"Wow, Rhys. This has to be an all time low for you. And that's saying something."
Rhys tugged at his leg, attempting to squeeze his foot out again. "You could help you know."
Fiona smirked, "And why would I do that?"
This had been a simple get in, get out mission. All they had to do was jump one fence, and the precious cargo would be theirs. But of course, Rhys couldn't even manage that.
"I don't know, maybe because if you don't help me there's no way you'll be able to get back over." Rhys growled.
"I could always just climb on top of you."
"I'll throw you off."
"I'll punch you in the face."
"I'll start crying."
Fiona stared at him. "You do know you're supposed to be saying threats."
"I-uh... I thought we were just saying what we were going to do." Rhys said bashfully.
Fiona rolled her eyes as she brushed her bangs away. "Never mind."
Rhys tugged on his leg again. "Can you just help me already!" He yelled angrily.
"Alright! Alright!" Fiona yelled back as she put her hand behind her, pulling out a knife. "We'll just have to cut it off."
"What!?" Rhys screamed, jumping up and down. "Just pull me out!"
"This is the only way Rhys... I'm sorry." Fiona said as she began to approach him.
"Fiona if you come any closer to me..." Rhys said as he backed up as far as he could.
"What? You'll cry?"
"Possibly."
As Fiona grabbed his leg, Rhys screamed. He couldn't bring himself to punch her, especially because it wouldn't stop her in the slightest.
Rhys covered his eyes with his hands. "I can't watch!" He screamed as she began to saw... The boot.
"You're such a baby Rhys." Fiona sighed as she cut through the leather.
"You could have told me it was just the boot!" Rhys yelled, angry again.
"That would have taken all the fun out of it." She replied with a smirk.
A deep growl erupted from the darkness, it's red eyes piercing through the darkness.
Fiona dropped the knife, fully alert. "It's a skag."
"Stay here Rhys, I'll distract it!" She whispered as she slowly stood up, preparing to make a run for it.
"Not like I have much of a choice." He muttered.
"I have the shiniest meat bicycle!" Fiona screamed as she was swallowed by the darkness, the red eyes chasing after her.
"Don't just leave me here!" Rhys yelled out to the darkness.
Silence was his only answer.
"Fiona?" No answer.
"Fi?"
All of a sudden, a pair of red eyes appeared once more.
"What have you done to Fiona?" Rhys yelled at the beast as if it could answer. "What have you done to her!?"
The rest was a blur. The skag lunged at him, Rhys tried to grab his knife, and a single shot rang out in the night sky.
When Rhys opened his eyes, a burning skag lay at his feet.
He looked around wildly, only knowing of one element wielding bandit.
"Rhys, you okay?" She asked as she came running towards him, like a light at the end of a tunnel.
"Am I- Are you okay? I thought you were dead!" Rhys said, his voice cracking with emotion.
"Don't get sentimental on me you Hyperion jackass." She said with a teasing grin.
"You don't understand, I thought you were-"
His boot decided to slip off at that moment, causing him to fall forward, straight into Fiona.
"Rhys!" Fiona exclaimed.
Rhys groaned as he pushed himself up, his hands on either side of her face. "I thought you were dead Fi." He whispered brokenly.
"Well I'm not Rhys, so get off, you've been eating too much ice cream again." She said, lightly pushing him.
"There's no such thing as too much ice cream." Rhys replied with a crooked grin.
"From down here there is." She grunted.
"Well from up here there isn't!"
"Your crushing me you fat jackass!"
"You're being scum you... Scum."
"Rhys, why are you so annoying!?"
"Why are you so attractive?!"
"What-"
Rhys crashed his lips against hers in a heat of passion. If the kiss had shocked her, she didn't let it show. She grabbed his collar and returned the kiss with equal fervor, opening her mouth, allowing him to slip his tongue in to meet hers for a dance of dominance.
He still wasn't sure how it happened, but he didn't care.
Because she was the ocean, and he was desperate to drown.
When the kiss finally broke they were both flustered.
"Uhm- I- I'm going to get off you now." Rhys stuttered as he got up from the ground.
"That's probably for the best." Fiona said with a blush.
"So what now?" Rhys asked.
If that question had a double meaning, she didn't care to find out what it was.
"We get the cargo of course." She said, acting as if it had never happened.
"Right." Rhys said with a sigh.
As they walked away from the fence, Rhys began to complain.
"I hate only having one shoe! It throws of my balance!" Rhys moaned like a child.
Fiona only rolled her eyes.
"And my toes are cold."
"I think you should be more worried about people seeing your sock." Fiona teased.
"What's wrong with my sock? There's nothing wrong with my sock! Is there something wrong with my sock?" Rhys asked, suddenly subconscious.
"Shut up!" Fiona whispered.
Rhys knew better than to argue with her.
Then Rhys heard it, a strange squeaking noise, like a rusty wheel. It was coming from a burrow in the ground.
"I'll check it out." Fiona said as she started to creep towards it.
"I'll check you out."
"What?!" Fiona whispered violently.
"N-nothing. Nothing at all." Rhys whimpered, scared for his life.
Fiona rolled her eyes again, as she put her hand down the hole.
"Oh no." She muttered as she brought her hand back up, bringing something along with her.
It was a skag pup. And a little one at that.
"Sorry buddy." Fiona murmured as she put her gun against its forehead.
"Don't shoot Lee!" Rhys yelled as he shoved the gun away.
"Rhys! What did I say about about naming things?" Fiona scolded.
"Not to." Rhys replied, sadly.
"Exactly." She said as she put the gun against its forehead once more.
"You don't have to kill him! I can take care of him! I'll train him!" Rhys said desperately.
"Fine. You're a grown ass adult. You can make your own decisions." She said as she shoved the skag into his arms.
"Who's a good Lee? Who's a good boy?" Rhys cooed at it.
"Not him." Fiona replied. "Him and his mother ate our cargo."
"Noooooooo! I knew I shouldn't have left that sandwich outside!" Rhys yelled as his stomach grumbled.
"Pandora is a dangerous place." Fiona muttered darkly.
Lee sat listening to the grumbling of Rhys' tummy, and made a decision.
He yarped up the sandwich on Rhys' lap.
"Uh... Thanks?" Rhys said.
Lee yipped happily, licking Rhys on the tip of his nose.
"Aww, you can't stay mad at him!" Rhys said as he hugged Lee.
"Let's just go." Fiona mumbled under her breath as she began to walk away.
"Don't you want to hold Lee?" Rhys asked excitedly.
"And end up like you? No thanks." She said with a chuckle, gesturing at the sandwich stain.
"Oh come on, just let him lick you a little bit!" Rhys teased, pushing Lee towards her.
"No! I don't like kisses!" Fiona yelled.
Rhys stared at her.
If that had a double meaning he was determined to find out what.
"Skag kisses or human kisses too?" Rhys asked shyly.
Fiona looked into his eyes. "I like... Human kisses."
"Really?" Rhys inched closer.
"Yeah." Fiona inched closer.
"Well then I have just the thi-"
Suddenly a light flashed on them. It was the Caravan.
"Hey guys! Whatcha doing over there? Vaughn asked with a smirk.
Fiona shoved Rhys away and kneed him in the stomach. "Oh you know, fighting."
"About what?" Vaughn asked, skeptical.
"Who gets to... Keep this dog!" Fiona yelled happily.
"Well, it looks like you won the fight. Congratulations Fiona! What's his name?" Vaughn asked excitedly. He always wanted a dog.
"Lee." Rhys moaned from the ground holding his stomach.
The skag turned around, staring at Fiona with its beady red eyes.
"I guess I'm your owner now... Lee." Fiona said, testing out the name. She couldn't believe this had happened. She didn't even want it in the first place!
Lee licked Fiona all over her face, and she started to giggle.
"Maybe kisses aren't so bad." She admitted staring at Rhys.
Okay, I have no idea where this came from, I literally just wrote it in like 30 minutes. This is me trying at fluff, so... Yeah. Also, sorry… more @ABigBadWolf for not finishing the Jack fic, it's just this one just randomly gripped me and I couldn't let it go. Anyways, tell me what you think!
