    Did I miss something?

Please check your email. We'd like you to do a pre-launch test.

...I think it'd be best if my current email was on this mailing list. ;)

If you haven't received an email from me today, send a note to me at jdreskin@telltalegames.com to let me know what your current email address is.

    Thanks.

Oh, it's the one in my profile, the one I should have subscribed with in the first place but didn't for some reason.

It's not working for me. When I launch the downloader, it goes straight to 100% then tries to run the program but returns an error. :/
  • edited September 2005
Hm Joel, have you tried to resend the mail to me? I sent you a mail. But still haven't gotten anything back. But then again, I've tried sending myself a mail from various mailaccounts, and it seems like my account/mailserver is retarded.

Any chance of posting the details here?

(or, you could mail the details to kontakt@fremmedrase.no - note: this is not my regular mailaccount, but since my usual one is obviously not working today, you could send it there just for today. don't change the mail adress you have on record - which is jan.tore@netcom.no)

I was about 60% of the way through the first install (on dialup - 3 hours in) when the new email
came through, so I started over.

Presently at 31MB (of 65) anf I pray my line doesn't drop out as I'm not sure if the downloader will resume a dropped download (I know it should resume a paused one)

Ahh well, so long as my line doesn't drop out, I should be able to report back in about 2 or 3 more hours on how it went.

There's no support for a download manager to take over the download by the looks, which is a bit of a pain for dialup users. Pity I couldn't just get the direct download URL for GetRight to plug into, rather than having to do it via the small downloader app.

Gonna have to tuck the kids up early, uncork a bottle of wine and drag the wife over to the PC tonight I think. We played Monkey Islands 3 & 4, DOTT & Grim together back in the day. Actually it was 4 1/2 years ago we last played an adventure together (Grim), so this should be great fun.

    :D

Haha. That sounds like a great idea JP. Nothing like a little romantic rendevouz with your loved one, playing a quality adventure game. Now why didn't I think of that one before?

I'll invite my ex. If she doesn't care for my idea of a romantic evening, it's her loss. :) At least adventure gaming still loves me!

    Good luck to you aswell!

I'll have to set the date for tomorrow. We'll bash out bugs and drink some wine. Seems like my mailserver just doesn't want me to try out Bone tonight.

In other news, I'll go print up the posters and fliers tomorrow. I'm gonna hook up a friend in the south of Norway aswell(in the capitol), so now we got north(jannar), middle(me) and south(friend) covered! The Norwegian Telltale Takeover(tm) is almost ready to launch. I'll try to get some pics posted as we go along.

    Later!

Only just found out about it and am downloading it as we speak. Thank god i managed to upgrade from my 56k modem huh?

Lucky you. I can't even get broadband where I live (in the suburbs about 20km from the biggest city in the country).

I'm DLing it now, on dialup at the staggering rate of 4kbps. :(

From the first aborted download I was expecting a 65MB file. But I'm hitting the 75MB mark now with no idea how big the file actually is. The new installer has no file size indicator or progress bar, just a slowly climbing 'bytes downloaded' figure

If anyone has the file, can you be so kind as to post the size of it here for me?

Woah, as I type it stopped and began the installation - about 77MB...

Just got up and saw the new mail. The new Bone Downloader isn't downloading though. I click Download Free, the download appears but won't start.
  • edited September 2005
O.k, I managed to copt the Downloader link into Getright and got it downloaded. Time for that 5 hour download journy on dial-up :(

Perhaps what I encountered was an issue with Firefox?
  • edited September 2005
I'm trying to unlock the full game, but after entering the code & filling out all the forms I get a box saying "retreiving key" and my dialup icon in the taskbar flickers one or two times and then after 30 seconds or so I get

    bone10.jpg

I tried lowering all my security settings in IE, but the same problem reoccured. I went through the process three times (and now I see I have 3 order confirmation emails in my inbox)

    Help... :(

Do you have a firewall running? If you do you might have to disable it.

    10% done now.
  • edited September 2005
    No, I don't have a firewall.

Just got disconnected. Now I have to start over. :(
  • edited September 2005
Well, I thought I'd try one last time before I went to bed, but now the first form won't accept my coupon code. I really hope I didn't waste other's useage of the coupon while retrying to authenticate.

If so, please accept my apologies. @};-

Just got disconnected. Now I have to start over. :(

That happened to me the first time (at 39MB) - there's a chance the download will resume.

Hey guys.. it took me about 10 mins to download the 73 meg file on broadband.. got the registration to work..and started playing.. i'm up to meeting the dragon and have had no bugs no problems to report.. lovin it!
  • edited September 2005
i never got a serialnumber/registration code, when i registered. did any of you guys experience that? plus the installer doesn't allow me to install anywhere but the default directory. no matter what directory i choose, it installs to the default one.

i sent a report to joel, troy and dan about it aswell, but just thought i'd ask you guys if you've encountered any of the same problems, or if it's just an isolated incident.
  • edited September 2005
Yeah, I've got the same problem with the code. I could change the path, though. Still waiting for Troy to send me the key :P

p.S - They need the "Hardware fingerprint" :)
  • edited September 2005
Yeah, you could change the path. But did it install to it? Have you checked "physically" on the disk, if it installed to what you set it to? It seemed like I could change it aswell, but it installed to the program files directory (programfiler if its a norwegian windows thingie) no matter what i set as the target directory.

It creates the directory you specifiy, but it installs to the default one. Atleast it did to me.

I had the problem with the code..heres what happened to me..

what I did was downloaded the game on the link, installed it ran it and then purchased the game through the reminder screen..

the problem was I was using firefox.. so when I clicked on "close window" it never closed the window..nothing happened.. when i re-did it in Internet Explorer. it closes the window and gave me my key and unlocked the game. so all working fine now.
  • edited September 2005
where is this "close window" button? i purchased through the website, and i just got a confirmation for the purchase, and a confirmation email. no code, no nothing.
  • edited September 2005
It installed to the path I stated, yeah. But as Telltale said in their latest Team Bone report, is (since you've obviously haven't got it:
    Team Bone!

There is a new version of the Bone downloadable now available that addresses some of the install issues experienced by a number of users. If you have already downloaded and installed the game, please uninstall your current copy, then download and install this latest version. If you've already "purchased" the game with the coupon you were provided, it will remain unlocked.

If you experience any problems with the download, purchase process, or installation, please email me immediately.

You can download the updated version of Bone by clicking on the "Download Free" button at

    http://stage.telltalegames.com/products?pc=bn0102

Thanks for all your support, and.... Happy Adventuring!

I did download the newer install. Considering I didn't get any of the mails before the new install was out there. Oh well, I dunno. Maybe it has to do with that my main hd (os) is on G:
