YouTube video being copyright flagged by a "Nordic Open"
What gives here? Friends have posted their "Let's Play" of it and aren't copyright flagged, but mine is hit and I can't seem to get around it. Should I be disputing this? If so, with which option?
Thanks.

That's a false copyright claim from someone outside of Telltale abusing the YouTube copyright system. I think that you should probably dispute that if you can.
Will do, thanks. I've never had to dispute anything before so I didn't want to do it and have it end up be a legitimate claim.
Hey man i am having the same problem how did you dispute it ?
Hey man i have the same problem which choice do i pick to dispute it
I'm not too well versed in disputing YouTube copyright claims, nor am I Telltale Staff (just a volunteer and a fan) so I don't know how to assist you, but you can check out this YouTube support article (linked below) or use Google to find some other answers.

It literally says "click here to dispute" in the same line of text where it alerts you to the claim, so I'm not sure where else to point you- sorry
No i know that i mean in my case when i click on there it shows me a lot of options i just don't know which one to choose, i don't want to get a strike just because i did not know what was the right claim option
Ah. I'd suggest the 'fair use' option, because they don't have a "this claim is bulls^^^" option. Hehe. Good luck.
They filed the same against me, I have no music in my video, it was Nordic Open I searched them and they are some foreign YouTube group.. I made a walkthrough lets play, my hard work they filed.. There are no options to choose that help us. We don't own minecraft.. They are illegally filing and stealing our content. I wish I was partnered
Same has happened to me, I am going to dispute the claim and will let you know how i get on.
I've too been falsely flagged by this group, Nordic Open. I'm currently playing through the game on my channel as well, and only one video so far has been claimed by them. I filed a dispute under "Fair Use" but they can wait a whole month to reply to the dispute, and that's typically what these false flaggers do. Worst case scenario, they can some how deny the dispute and give a copyright strike to the channel, which is what I hope won't happen! If that happens, it's best to contact YouTube's support team and ask them for help. I'd take screenshots of the claim on your video, and if you dispute it, screenshots of that as well for proof.
Can someone on Telltale maybe do something about this? I worked REALLY hard on my first Minecraft video and now someone else is basically reaping the benefits. :-/
Never heard of these guys. Some trolling attempt, it seems. Or maybe one of its members is putting let's plays up and wants to be the only one.
I gave them a tweet, but since I'm small time I don't know if they'll respond. Perhaps if enough of us filled the same complaint to them, they can do something. I can't even find any information about this group, Nordic Open. Someone on Twitter who's going through the same thing said they're scammers, but I don't know where he found that out. Clearly, they don't own our content that we made, so maybe they are!
yeah i tweeted them as well. i've only had to contact their support one other time, but they were prompt and helpful, so hopefully it will be the same this time
Idk I have had all my vids flagged by them saying it is audiovisual content and the timestamp given is of actual game play with voice over. I want to contest but also don't want on some dumb way to get my account in bad standing. Seems that youtube is leaning against people posting vids.
The latter seems to be the case. Nordic Open is a network of youtube channels. It seems they are fraudulently flagging competing videos for content that they don't actually own, simply to try to thin out the competition.
I'd definitely contest the copyright violation flag, through YouTube's appeals process. It also wouldn't hurt to report Nordic Open for violating YouTube's policies for pretending to represent a business (in this case, Telltale).
I just came here to research the same subject, as one of my videos has been flagged as well. I've disputed it, of course, because Nordic Open has nothing to do with Minecraft: Story Mode.
Since the claimants are able to put adds on the videos they claim as their content, I sense a malicious intent with this. Because right now they are targeting Minecraft: Story Mode episodes put out by pretty much everyone (I know of 4 other Youtubers that have had this - not including the people in this thread).
How do we report Nordic Open? What a shady network! Do they have a YouTube channel we can report or do we have to go through YouTube support and report their partnership site?
Edit: ah I see the link! Cheers!
This is their YouTube channel
It's a hub for the channels in their network, but since it's the main channel for their company, it should work for the purposes in reporting them for violations.
Same group has claimed another one of our vids and I have disputed both and have had the claim removed in a very short space of time.
Okay, so I disputed the false claim and after a few hours the claim was removed from my video. If you want to know what option to choose, it's "Fair Use". They do not own Telltale's Minecraft: Story Mode, so they hold no ground against you. Still, the fact that a scumbag network like Nordic Open can falsely claim anyone's hard work is ridiculous. Even after all these years, it's still easy for anyone to make false claims on content creator's videos. YouTube needs to fix that and protect it's content creators from copyright abuse!
Also, don't be discouraged from uploading more content of your Minecraft: Story Mode playthroughs. That's what this "network" is trying to do. They're trying to intimidate you from uploading your content so their partners can be the only one's who have videos up! Dispute the claim/s and continue to enjoy the game and upload your content as a big "screw you" to those scumbags!
Thanks for this detailed info.
I just read my email that I have been copyright flagged by this ridiculous "Nordic" group.
I'm hoping this will be sorted out soon.
Just to add - they have removed the copyright claim from my video now as well. Took a lot longer than before, though.
It seems that youtube may have caught on to them doing this. I logged in after another message in my inbox about another video being flagged and all the flags were removed. The email was sent last night after I went to work but now all the flags are gone. I wish there was a way that people that post to youtube could stop people from doing things like this. I may not get many views and honestly that is ok because I don't care about the quantity of viewers I get but rather the quality of them. That is why what little money is made by youtube goes back to the people viewing the channel. When people like this falsely claim that they own something they do not realize how it hurts people that are there for the channel and not the cash. With them flagging each video I made on the series I couldn't take the chance on disputing each one and risk multiple strikes which if received would shut the channel down according to youtube's policy. That would leave me having to do them one by one (which can take 30 days ea) while they get the benefits of the videos and forcing my viewers to have to wait on new videos (for fear of other flags) and or putting things that the channel supports (like the minecraft server or the portion I donate to food banks, etc) on hold while having to deal with the sheer greed that has far to often caused things like this to happen. Youtube should be a community where people support the other creators and help each other if they are able.
We got hit by the same channel, and this is what we sent to Youtube to dispute it and the removed the copyright:
"This is a video that we made and posted on our channel, just like any other Minecraft youtuber that has posted this gameplay. Nordic Open does not own nor operate under Telltale Games, nor Mojang. Nordic Open is not an affiliate of ours nor have we ever made videos for them. After researching Nordic Open, we gathered that they are an MCN and do this to attempt to take peoples videos. especially from this game. We contacted Telltale Games, and they claim that this is a fraudulent Copyright claim. Nordic Open has done this to other youtubers. We will seek further representation against Nordic Open if this is not resolved."
I got hit by that channel as well. I don't understand what I'm supposed to do.
The same happens to me . I opened a dispute about it
Someone on my channel complained about the Nordic Open first, but his next video got claimed by a network called "Flex_DMA".
I don't remember anymore, but found somewhere that the audio/visual copyright matches have a limited amount (that you can get before getting a ban), but content ID issues don't count towards this. I don't see it anywhere in the e-mail regarding the claimed content, but I think the difference is - for the first one your video is taken down immediately and not visible to viewers, but for the second - you only can't monetize it. But I am not an expert on this - just what I've gathered after extensive Googling yesterday.
If anyone else gets this - you should dispute it. @Jackthereaper has explained really well. I hope this all turns out fine for everyone!
Just an hour ago I had Flex_DMA tag me with a Random Copyright claim on my Minecraft story mode. So bogus!! So I disputed all the claims. We shall see what happens
I've had the same issue. Flex_DMA claimed copyright on video content at some random point in my video. I disputed, using the following
It really is obnoxious that the YouTube system so easily allows fraudulent claims like this. For a struggling new YouTuber just trying to get subscribers having to deal with this is stress I don't need. YouTube needs to have a system whereby we can "tag" let's Play content for the copyright owners, and then ONLY THEY can make a claim against it. Something like, "This is a video game Let's Play, the copyright is owned by |Select company name from menu|". It would stop all the fraudulent claims immediately.
That's an invasion group, you better look out from it.
My advice, dispute all claims asap. Otherwise, you'll get yourselves sued.
UPDATE: I disputed Flex_DMA's copyright claims and it was about 6 - 8 hours after the dispute and they released it. I hope Karma opens a can of Whoop A$$ on them
Na, no chance you're getting sued. They know they have no proper claims which means they would not hold up in court.
