Ending

MAJOR SPOILERS

Ok, so I got through the Trial, the Bar Fight, and most of the feast, and am now at where The Marquis is fighting Elaine. I've slashed him, and given him the pepper, etc., but because of his Jue de Vie, it's not doing anything!

Help?!?

Notice the barrel of water, is there anything in your inventory that might draw some light to your problem.
Use the sugar in the water barrel to attract fireflies
Now use the pepper with De Singe
    Now insult Elaine
Lob sponge into vacalean wind device

I'm not happy about this, either. Not at all.

Midway through this episode, I thought maybe there would be an interesting twist with DeSinge being the Voodoo God, but I was wrong about that.

Let's hope they redeem themselves next month.

EDIT: Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed this episode. Up until the end, anyway.

You have to admit though it certinaly makes you want to play episode 5.
    Is Guybrush dead?
    Where is Morgan?
Will Elaine seek revenge or fall into LeChucks arms, now that her beloved is 'dead'?
And yey Earl is back as LeChuck. :D:D

Im stuck. How do you get out of the clamshell trap?
  • edited October 2009
First you have to get rid of DeSinge.
To do so, put your sugar in ze barrel of water, thenuse the pepper with DeSinge. Then you will have to talk to DeSinge and tell him he doesn´t have a chance against Elaine.

Then you just throw the sponge into the horn of the monument.

Im stuck. How do you get out of the clamshell trap?
Why do you want to get out of the trap?
Some other ways to interact with the scene?
Tried to get your sponge into the wind device?
Seen any strange insects, that you've seen before?
You have a pepper, sugar and a barrel of water.
Use sugar with water, Fireflies will come by. Use pepper on Desinge.
The moths are circling at the eyes of the statue.
Talk with DeSinge, try to get Elaine to outburst! Maybe this will trigger the statue in some way.
Once again, tried getting your sponge into the wind device?

best twist ever, loved it. it bumped this episode from okay to ZOMGAWESOME for me.
can't wait for the next episode

I liked the ending as a cliffhanger. LeChuck was not just dangerous and deadly, he was terrifying (he probably wasn't so terrifying to me in SOMI:SE because I knew Guybrush would win). Elaine heartbroken. The ironic echo at the end worked. But that was the thing.

Now can Guybrush get out of this one?

Odds are yes. But can Elaine?
  • edited November 2009
I want guybrush to get with Morgan ... She's much cooler!
    Also Elaine is really bitchy!
  • edited November 2009
Yeah, I think Guybrush is done with and in the next MI games you will be LeChuck fighting the Forces of Good.

    Not :)

the ending was certainly a suprise!
    wasnt expecting that at all.

    i did have a theory...
guybrush to use the hand that de singe used to heal himself...
but thinking about it, the hand is no more!

    ok, so maybe
voodoo lady gets released from jail and does some voodoo to heal?

certainly a cliffhanger of an ending

In fact, this is one of my most favorite endings. Really surprised me, though...

Perhaps we'll have Elaine as a playable character, trying not only to defeat LeChuck, but go get Guybrush back.

Or maybe we will get to play as guybrush, in a pirate hell, or somthing of the sort.

same here! I dare say that I am now enjoying it more than mi3. Tough I can imagine a bit of what´s about to happen, I´m still veeeery anxious to play the next part.
also, i like how they weren´t afraid to put really sad parts in this episode (and different/strong emotions in general, like when morgan is sad in the bar). i think it gives a bit of extra depht to the characters and story. i can´t remember anything like this in the previous games, and i think it´s a nice change of pace.

Hmm, well, after all the Voodoo Lady told Guybrush in MI3 that Blood Island was the place where he was going to die...either she was wrong with this (I don't believe...) or Guybrush may not be dead after all...or Telltale missed this spot ;)
  • edited November 2009
Since Elaine said at the start of chapter 1 (or the end of the imagined MI5?) "oh great, now we're going to die. Again." it might be possible Guybrush already died at least once in that adventure.

Or we could just say the voodoo lady didn't mention he'd only or firstly die at Blood Island.

He did die on Blood Island. Kinda. Remember, kids, don't mix alcohol and medication.

Right, but he didn't FINALLY die...well, seems to be a point of interpretation...;)

Maybe we will play as Guybrushs hand
  • edited December 2009
OR guybrushes hand/moragain/money will use the juice de vue (or whatever it was called) to resurrect guybrush.

The chance of guybrush staying dead is just about 0%.
