I think the reason Rhys was looking for Fiona in the middle of nowhere because Loader Bot might've tricked him into beleiving that Fiona wanted to meet up with Atlas's new owner
I liked the little plus symbols when it healed her because its like a reminder that it's still a video game universe (same with the glow effect on the loot you have in the Borderlands series that also appeared in TFTB). I thought it was pretty amusing.
The personal healing device thing bugs me a little too, because it's not a tech that was introduced in the main series as opposed to everyth… moreing else. Though it probably wouldn't be too far-fetched as med kit do exist in BL1. (Though some of the science and mechanism is really up for debate as canon... e.g. newU station)
I actually had no problems with it, the only gameplay issues were if I did a QTE or chose an answer quickly sometimes, the characters would jump around. I guess I did it too quickly sometimes....
I, like most people, loved the episode, but things I disliked were:
Why was Finch the only villain we were able to extract revenge on? He was the one I had the least interest in killing, but was also the only one I could. I had Fiona say to Vallory in Episode 3, "I'm going to kill you." Doesn't happen. When Kroger shot Loader Bot on Helios, I was like, "You're going to die for that." Doesn't happen. And when Kroger was about to stab Fiona, I kept waiting for an option to come up, as Rhys, to like charge him or something. Doesn't happen. I also was hoping for more than one line with Yvette, as Rhys, since our conversation last episode was so electrifying. But, again, doesn't happen. Nit-picks, I know, but disappointing.
I found certain things very predictable. I knew Loader Bot would force us into that pod, and stay behind. And he does. I knew Sasha would jump out the caravan to use the detonator, and she does. Then she also survives, and makes a joke in the end, which I assumed and was waiting for that entire scene. I also knew instantly that little bandit the Stranger captured was Vaughn, and when he came at Rhys and Fiona with that knife, I was like "Oh quit your panicking. It's obviously Vaughn, and he's about to cut you loose." And he does. It was also a shame that, despite me always being friends with Jack, siding with him, and choosing to rule Hyperion, we become full-out enemies like five minutes in regardless. And because of my choice to rule Hyperion, I get on more bad terms with Fiona and Sasha, and have nothing to show for it. Might as well rejected.
The final scene where they disappear kinda sucks. I'd have much rather if they opened the chest, stared at each other like "Wow" and then it ended. A more satisfying and still open-ended cliffhanger, that would have been, I feel.
Anyway, those admittedly nit-picky things are the only problems I have with it, in the end. Other than that, I loved it.
Sorry to throw shipping into this, but whoever you chose in the end, whether it was Sasha or Fiona, there should have been a [Kiss] option.

Onto more serious things, there really wasn't much wrong with the episode, the beginning felt a bit slow for me, but it was still great nonetheless. This episode was almost flawless.
No real complaints except I wish you could kiss Sasha or Fiona as Rhys, I wish they kept Zer0's voice from episode 1, and I wish the game wouldn't have froze up every 10 seconds during the end fight. Besides that I loved it and thought it was great. Also not sure how I feel about the ending. It was great in the sense that it is a cliffhanger for a possible season 2, but if there isn't a season 2 then I'm just gonna think it was bad because we don't know what happened to Rhys and Fiona after that ending where they vanish.

Even if there won't be a season 2 (which I pray to God there will be), there is a chance that it may be explored in Borderlands 3, just a thought. But yeah I agree, to end a series like that really does seem like they're leading into a possible season 2, and if not, then that's a pretty shitty cliffhanger to leave us on, they just disappear after killing a vault monster, never to be heard from again.

Pretty disappointed in the explanation for Rhys and Fiona hating each other at the start of Zer0 Sum, but I guess that was just a side effect of a long development period.
The Traveler seemed to be MUCH larger than the Warrior at least and it appeared to be indestructible, it might not have been as impressive when it came to powers but it probably would have been a bitch to fight. If this were an actual Borderlands game then maybe the Traveler would have more moves but it's not. Also, Power Rangers is pop culture goodness, it totally fits with Borderland's insane and wacky situations.
One thing I thought could've been done so much better was the last bit with gortys. Here I was expecting this awesome scene of two giants ba… morettling it out and destroying stuff and instead i get... Power Rangers? It wasn't even that exciting. I mean, for a vault guardian, the traveler was just weak. It didn't teleport as much as it could've, it didn't have some awesome laser or power other than teleporting. The Destroyer was better than the Traveler, think. I mean, look at the Sentinal! It could change elements, and had an uber form! I seriously expected more from the Traveler. And the the buster sword at the end? IF THAT WAS THERE,WHY NOT USE IT FROM THE BEGINNING?!? And besides Zer0, who else has experience with a sword? Gortys said it herself, she had no combat experience, why can she suddenly use a sword?
Also, the part with Handsome Jack AI. It's already been touched, so I won't say much on it. But, I wanted more of an explanation. If i… [view original content]

I actually think the metal endoskeleton was a "gift" of some sorts to Rhys since Handsome Jack thinks Rhys is an obsessive Handsome Jack fanboy and would love to actually "be" Handsome Jack, so it's not Jack trying to kill him as much as Jack using Rhys for his own personal goals but making it sound like an awesome gift at least from my point of view.
Plot-forcing an anti-Jack stance on Rhys no matter how pro-Jack you were before.
I understand Jack was trying to kill him (for no practic… moreal reason - flaw no.2), but Rhys' complete change in tone when talking to Jack felt really awkward in a previously pro-Jack playthrough, it's like his characterization got thrown out the window along with the Rule Hyperion ending.
So overall just standard Telltale 'your choices won't affect the main story in the slightest, sorry pal'. But I guess I'm not actually nitpicking since those made me genuinely not enjoy this episode at all. In the end maybe TT games just aren't for me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I loved the happy ending, I thought it fit perfectly fine with the series and the Borderland series as a whole. It's not Walking Dead or Wolf Among Us as those aren't exactly the kind of narratives that would leave off with a happy ending but it works perfectly fine here as this adventure was built from the ground up as a wacky, hilarious, fun ride that had its dark moments but in the end, everyone was okay. I mean, the Original Star Wars trilogy had TWO happy endings and they were awesome!
I found the ending to be quite disappointing.
Don't get me wrong. I loved the series, but this final episode doesn't deserve the heaps of… more praise its getting. Was it a good closer? Sure. A masterpiece? Hell no
Loader bot surviving the fall? How? Where did he get his equipment? I know it was Helios but how did he scrounge all that together on time?
The watch suddenly turning into a Jesus device? C'mon. It wasn't even previously established at all in any of the episodes. Just "here's a magic watch all of a sudden"
I felt the Handsome Jack scenario was swept under the rug too quickly. All of that resolved in the intro? C'mooooon! Felt rushed and under developed.
Some really shit character pacing here as well.
No one died? Really? Like...apart from the bad guys? a major battle like that and everything ends neat n tidy? Im so sick of forced happy endings

I agree with this interpretation, but it still could have been done better, and I mostly have a bone to pick with the way TT did Rhys' dialog in those scenes. I get they couldn't have made the whole plot different for pro-Jack players, but some different lines and reactions wouldn't have been hard to implement.

During the song scene. You can see two more escape pods detach from Helios that crash into each other and go a bit haywire, but they don't seem to be destroyed if I remember correctly. Maybe this is Loader bot and Kroger?
The franchise has always had Bittersweet Endings. It needs a happy one once in a while. And besides, does everything that comes out of the media these days need to be more dark than a black cat in a coal cellar?

Actually, it IS tech that is available in Borderlands 2. Mostly it is Anshin technology, which specializes in healing/leeching from enemies.
Was totally baffled by it until I saw the health symbols, then it clicked.
But at least we got to shoot Finch again (and possibly twice at that), and make Kroger get smacked in the head with something to continue his streak of getting smacked in the face with various objects
i don't think it is hard to imagine that there are healing devices made on pandora, it's like a second wind machine or something, you would … morehave thought that with the amount of technology researched into weapons and shields someone would make something that heals people, i mean they have those stimpack things in the game and shield things that make you heal as well
The Traveler's weakness probably comes from the fact that a Vault monster just doesn't translate too easily into a Telltale-style game. To be frank, it's too much a gameplay-oriented concept to really work that well, at least in my opinion. If it worked anything like the average Vault monster does in the game, I have this sinking feeling the the fight sequence would have ended up dragging on and felt too drawn out, or would end up being a bit boring and/or annoying. I mean, the Sentinel was awesome to fight against in TPS, sure, but I couldn't imagine it being anywhere near as cool as that if it was in Tales, mainly due to the lack of gameplay elements to work with to make an engaging boss fight in the first place. I think they did what they could to make a Vault monster work in this kind of game, even if that meant that it had to be nerfed a fair amount, especially in comparison to all the other monsters in the BL series so far.

Personally I thought the Sentinel was a joke, and the "Invincible" Sentinel even more so, at least on normal mode. Honestly, in comparison the Traveler took more effort, since I had to actually pay attention to the prompts, while I just bunny-hopped around the Sentinel taking pot-shots at his face with Rhys' ten-levels-obsolete shotgun.
Though to be fair, it might just have been Timothy and his OP digi-Jacks, and it is a pretty good shotgun.
(Aaaaand thinking of digi-Jacks made me sad again. Crap.)

Fair enough, sorry I misread your comment. It is still pretty plot-devicey though (divicey is totally a word), as that specific kind of healing has never been mentioned in the past of the series.
i didn't say it was either, i said it was like them and specifically i said:
"i don't think it is hard to imagine that there are healing devices made on pandora"
sure, i get what you mean, but it could just be some super rare/expensive technology, or even a one of a kind piece of tech kept secret.
i could totally imagine some item in the normal borderlands game that healed you when your health got to low, and had a really long cooldown or something, and it wouldn't even seem that rare or important of an item, it may just seem more plot devicey because in tales they didn't even have basic shields or have any healing things with them at all for some reason.

I can try and answer some of your questions you have.
Rhys more than likely didn't get the facility back to form by himself, since he owns Atlus, I'm sure he could either pay to get some workers or there may have been some bots around.
If you mean when Loader Bot is captured by Vaughn and crew, I believe it's simply because he didn't want to harm his friends. After he heard the whole truth, any malice he held towards them was gone so he willingly went along since he now knew the whys.
As far as the general, honestly idk. I'm going to assume he's dead though since (from what I remember) they didn't reseal his cryo bed, the shock alone from it being reopened improperly probably killed him already, but I'm betting either skags/psychos/raks got to his body by now.
And I've got nothing else for the other questions unfortunately, hope it helped some!
Yeah, good point. I just wish they had gone another route or (better yet) avoided the ridiculous heroic sacrifice thing in the first place. Seriously, Scooter, Loaderbot (twice), Gortys and Sasha all playing the same card in a two episode span irritated the heck out of me.

yeah, actually i agree with that, like, i forgive telltale because she didn't actually die in the ridiculous "heroic" sacrifice, but i was rolling my eyes when it happened, and i still don't know how she actually got close to the bomb
