Happy loader bot was alive, didn't buy him as the stranger. The stranger never acted like him, never talked like him, and was hating on Rhys when Fiona was the one he was angry with.
Right up to the second he takes the mask off, then his speech changes like a switch. I don't think they knew who it was going to be until they were doing ep 5.
I started to go "oh my god is that LB?" when he started saying things like "I had only asked one thing etc."
And then when I saw him I was completely dumbstruck, like... I hadn't seen it coming at all?? And suddenly, everything made complete sense to me.
I was also relieved that he was still alive. I think I shed a tear or two when I thougt he died on Helios.
I was absolutely unprepared to see LB there. And now, do you remember when Fiona told a story where LB kicked Athena? "Loader bots can't do that", stranger said. "You were not there", Fiona objected. Now it looks so clever.
I hadn't thought of it at all. I was expecting a crazy send off for Loaderbot when we saw his legs ripped off. And I technically got that. Freaking, when he sent Fiona off in the escape pod, I flipped. I didn't think he'd make it to help Rhys, and then he did and IT HAPPENED AGAIN!
So seeing him there at almost the reveal I just couldn't believe it. It fit so well. It just was the fact he was "shaped" wrong that threw me off. Everything I'd been using as my checklist was there and it was only the exoskeleton piece I didn't suspect.
Though, faceless Vasquez would of been an "interesting" reveal. (That theory died in episode 4 for me, don't worry.)

Can't lie I actually guessed it would be Loaderbot after finishing episode 4. Not even an educated guess or anything.. I was just like "No Loaderbot don't die! Please be the stranger!"
Oh, I didn't mean it hinted the stranger identity. I just realised how cool those little details are, that you can understand only later. Here I like to imagine LB inner struggle not to reveal himself while Fiona was telling him exaggerated version of his own deeds.
Okay so. Literally one of my first guesses for the Stranger was either LB or Gortys. The color schemes & hints fit (especially when the Stranger seemed so protective of the piece of Gortys they found). I thought it wouldn't be so far-fetched for the body to be some kind of robosuit. Then the idea sort of died out and became forgotten as we played through more episodes, because it just didn't seem likely? I started to settle on more popular theories like Vaughn. And then boom episode 5 happened and I was so blown away I couldn't even muster a "I TOTALLY CALLED IT" because I was still too traumatized from the Hyperion wreckage scene lmao

to me, it was the greatest plot twist since "I am L". I mean...honestly, at no point, not even for the slightest second, did I ever think that LOADERBOT would be the stranger. hell, I even suspected roland and felix, two dead people, but loaderbot? that came out of nowhere. but I really love how they made it happen. but one thing that got me thinking...what makes our loaderbots different from all the other loaderbots from hyperion? what is it that makes him feel, that makes him unique?
I genuinely thought it was Gortys who'd lost her memory and was angry all the way up until it showed LB watching Fiona in the flash back. So when it was revealed to be the OTHER robot on the team, I broke out into laughter. I was close, so close. My crazy theory was WAY closer than it should've been.
I first thought it could be Loader Bot because of how the eyes kind of matched and how their voices had the same kind of pattern but the build was different so I was definitely shocked that it was Loader Bot, I didn't realise it was him until right before he revealed himself, going back, it's pretty cleverly him if you look at past dialogue with him.
I was watching at like 3 AM, and it was revealed and I yelled, "LOADER BOT!" and I got a text from my mom asking if I was alright. She knew I was up watching the live stream, but she didn't know it was that serious... XD
Made me wonder why (especially if you treated him nicely) he was so harsh on Rhys when the guy wasn't even the team member who blew up Gortys. Last Loader Bot saw of him, he was unconscious and bleeding out in the remains of Helios.
After I saw loader bot saving Rhys. Then you got them taking out gortys. I pretty much figured that the reason he got them together was because he wanted them to be together. From there I figured it was loader bot.
When it was revealed I went "i knew he didn't die."
....You know, there is that part where you can self destruct Loader Bot and he comes back fully functional and back together alluding to the fact that he might have fixed himself up. Maybe there was more to THIS Loader Bot than meets the eye.
It bothered me lol I understand that the robots in Borderlands, just like Star Wars & Samurai Jack, have souls (personalities and emotions), but that shit was just goofy! I'm a HUGE Borderlands and TellTale fan, but I seriously felt like Tales got progressively infantile as it went along. Even the jokes landed less and less. Trying to cry on Sasha was cringe inducing lol it just got stupid. Charmingly stupid!.. But stupid. I enjoyed it overall, but I have a lot of issues. I still will buy a Season Two if it's made just to see the repercussions in the Borderlands Universe as a whole! I mean, it's nice to know that Scooter is dead and Hyperius is rubble lol xD the Handsome Jack arc was incredibly satisfying!!! I loved all of the characters!

How? Anyone who has seen or fought loader bots would know that's not a common ability. It did nothing to suggest the stranger WAS LB.

Wait, didn't he send Rhys off in the escape pod? Shit never mind I just read the rest of your comment

I felt genuine surprise, which was a huge relief because I was afraid it would be Felix.
I was shocked, I did not see that coming.

I WANTED THE STRANGER TO BE:
I first thought it could be Loader Bot because of how the eyes kind of matched and how their voices had the same kind of pattern but the build was different so I was definitely shocked that it was Loader Bot, I didn't realise it was him until right before he revealed himself, going back, it's pretty cleverly him if you look at past dialogue with him.
I may or may not have yelled his name so loud and long that I was afraid my neighbors would call the cops.
I was watching at like 3 AM, and it was revealed and I yelled, "LOADER BOT!" and I got a text from my mom asking if I was alright. She knew I was up watching the live stream, but she didn't know it was that serious... XD
then what would be the purpose of the stranger saying that?
Damn it, I've been spoiled (that was my reaction)
I have actual logs because I was talking with a buddy who had already beat it. Warning for intense language:
Made me wonder why (especially if you treated him nicely) he was so harsh on Rhys when the guy wasn't even the team member who blew up Gortys. Last Loader Bot saw of him, he was unconscious and bleeding out in the remains of Helios.
confusedbas hell because rhys was nice to him and the stranger version kicked the shit out of him
I started laughing hysterically until my throat started hurting and then I thought: "Why have I done this. Why has Tell-Tale done this?
Meh... better than the traitor
After I saw loader bot saving Rhys. Then you got them taking out gortys. I pretty much figured that the reason he got them together was because he wanted them to be together. From there I figured it was loader bot.
When it was revealed I went "i knew he didn't die."
"whaT THE FUCK"
Then around 3 minutes later.
"ye ok i can get used to this"
"WHAT? Oh my GOD!"
And that was my reaction to the reveal.
Probably 10000000 times better.
I figured it out within seconds of the reveal with the exosuit but yeah, I had no idea until they started explaining it.
Such an amazing little twist.
I honestly expected Felix, dammit.
There's subtle clues that it is Gaige who fixes him up.
