Episode 3 HINT faq

If you're stuck somewhere in Episode 3: The Mole, The Mob, and the Meatball, and you don't want the answer completely given away, then you've come to the right place. Here, I have things set up in classic FAQ format. Questions, and answers. All the questions should help you get back on track without completely giving away the answer.
This should cut down on the QnA threads, I guess.

Q: How do I...
A:
This is a general tip. Your first source for hints should be Max. When you have a problem, talk to him about it and see what he says.

Q:
Max
didn't help too much.
A:
Oh did he? He may seem completely clueless, but normally a few key words in his dialogue can set you thinking in the right direction.

Enough general help!

Q: How can I get in the backroom?
A:
Don't rush yourself. Play some games! Relax.
If you try the slot machine, then a guy will come out and go back in.
The password is being said, but you can't hear it. How can you amplify your hearing?
Have you visited Bosco?

Q: Bosco, as usual, completely overcharges for his Bosco-tech...
A:
Looks like you'll need to win it big to get this item...
Where have you seen the ability to win ten million of something?
You'll need to beat Leonard Steakcharmer in a game of Indian Poker.

Q: How does that stupid Indian poker player win so much!
A:
It's only a game of luck! If you play 5 or 6 times, you're bound to win, right?
It's almost obvious that Leonard is cheating. But how?
He's certainly peering intently at something before he makes a bet.
Leonard is cheating by looking at the clown nose near the exit. It's shiny, and reflects directly on his forehead.

Q: How can I sabotage that cheat?
A:
He needs to think that he's winning, when he's really not.
If he sees a high card on the nose, he'll bet it all.
Where have you seen a high card?
Where have you seen a high rabbit?
Take the ace from SnM's office, and use it with the clown nose. Then play another game with Leonard.

Q: I could never kill Sybil! What can I do?
A:
Worse, you've been told to make it messy.
As long as there's a gunshot and blood, the mafia will take it.
What's red like blood, thick like blood, and looks like blood?
And what container would be expected to be seen at Sybil's?
How about the one that's already there?
Take the coffee cup on her desk to Bosco's, fill it with ketchup, bring it back, and shoot it.

Q: Bosco's paranoia is getting the better of me. How can I get this thing on the counter?
A:
Bosco's friendly to you. Ask him what's preventing someone from doing that.

Q: How can I distract Bosco?
A:
What's the one thing Bosco cares about?
Conspiracies!
Tell him that the Toy Mafia is outside.

Q: How can I disable the anti-delivery camera?
A:
Any object that isn't recognized is thrown onto the street.
A:
Throwing the camera out onto the street certainly counts as disabling it.
What if the camera were attached to something that isn't recognized?
Use the refrigerator magnet (which I'd be appalled if you don't have by now) on the camera. If you don't have it...it comes from playing Whack Da Ratz.

Q: Where could I find a meatball sandwich?
A:
New York. But seriously...ask the mafia for hints.
They mention that someone might try to get it to a fence.
Who do you know that's a fence? Or, at least has a criminal nature and isn't part of the Toy Mafia?
Check with Jimmy Two-Teeth, at your office.

Q: Help! I'm being chased by a bunch of cuddly toy bears!
A:
Look on the side of the road for things that might help.
They're not about to follow you over a jump.
But maybe not following you would be a bad idea!
Shoot the sign over the bridge while going over the jump.

Q: Okay, Sybil I MIGHT have been able to kill...but Max?
A:
If only your gun were a bit more harmless.
Who has tried to pull a harmless gun on you in the past hour?
Shoot Max with the cap gun.

Q: How can I take down the mole?
A:
Give him a taste of his own medicine.
Take one of the bears and use it against him.
Hmmm. The hypnosis worked...the keyphrase didn't.
You may need to alter the voice modulators being put into these things.
Search the room for something that might have a voice chip in it.
Use the screwdriver on the workbench with the one-armed bandit.

Q: How can I put the voice chip into my bear?
A:
Sam's no technician. But the machine in front of him is.
It takes voice modulators from the cart and stuffs them into bears.
Drop the voice thing from the one-armed bandit in the cart.

Q: He's..."on fire". What now?
A:
What did Max do when he was over there?
For god's sake, man. If you SERIOUSLY can't figure this part out, then I'm ashamed of you.

    Yes, very awesome. It's a great substitute for the built-in hint system I'm still wondering about. I used this thread maybe twice ;) I'm proud of myself!

    If this were stickied it would stop a lot of threads from being made.
    Then again, no one reads stickies. Dillema...
