Felix - Conning until the end?
Ok, so I was one of those people that saved Felix way back on the first episode, and thus was really happy when I saw he was available for the team. Then the whole Fiona/Felix/9 million dollars scene happened and I was stoked and glad I warned him about the bomb in the case.
But then I started to think more about this and it just didn't make sense. If he knew about the bomb, in fact, he disarmed the case, took out the money and armed it again, why would he let the case blow up on him, not allowing him, Fi or Sasha to get the true reward? It makes sense if you shot him, he would soon die so it would be better to protect the girls by pretending the money blew up, but not the other situations.
But even if you warned him, he looks surprised and only throws the case away right before it explodes. I know this is probably the "canon" thing, but I believe there is an explanation that fits better. Felix was the one who taught Fiona and Sasha into the ways of conning and cares deeply about them. Knowing that the sisters would probably never want to see him again if he got greedy, he tried to gain back the money (and had time to do it), pretending everything was part of a larger scheme, when in fact he just wanted the money for himself. Plus, he would get back on good terms with Sasha and Fiona, who I truly believe he love.
I know this theory is convulted and has some holes (where did Felix get the money), but the explanation given just didn't make sense to me.

Felix seems to be a veteran at this con artist thing, so I can buy that he would have a good number of fake money lying around for this special occasion. As for the other thing, I can only say that in my theory, Felix REALLY wanted to make the whole thing look authentic even to his own adopted daughters so that he could give them some motivation to walk away from the con artist lifestyle which might explain why he's willing to die for the fake money and act surprised when Fiona warns him so that he can't risk Fiona gathering suspicion that the money was fake. It's not entirely well thought out especially when TT didn't have a concrete plan of how they were going to handle this story arc from the start but I personally think they did their best at tying up most of the loose ends.
Felix is only dead if you shot him.
In fact there's unused audio that showed Felix was going to be on Helios in one of the cells where he would reveal that he didn't blow up but in fact used a flashbang.
Obviously it's unused but it makes the most sense to me.
never heard of those before...
It's one of Felix's secret inventions.
I'm pretty sure he had a confused look on his face there because Fiona was telling the story, and as we all know embellishments exist. She had no clue if he survived so she probably told it like he was surprised to find out it was armed.
It's really annoying to me how they handled Felix's survival, it just doesn't make sense, even if he knew about the bomb.
Vaughn: "If you let him kill me you'll never get the money"
Fiona: "Sure I will, Felix can bypass any lock. He'll have your case open faster than this guy can eat you're lips off"
Vaughn: But he can't defuse the bomb synched to my bio-signature"
Vaughn states that the bomb can't be disarmed, which is why I'm so convinced Felix's 'larger con' was a last minute change.
Well, you never know, Felix might actually have more surprises up his sleeve. He's a crafty one, I totally buy it.
Flashbangs (aka stun grenades) so called because they make a bright flash of light and a loud noise (bang) but have very little explosive force. They're often used by law enforcement and military units to neutralize hostile targets in a room. They're much more likely to temporarily blind and disorient you than anything else.

I still think that Felix is part of a secret organization that can foresee the future and everything that happened was according to some long-term plan they have going on.
Felix=Illuminati??!
i doubt even felix cant get past a biolock
Wow, I really didn't know about that, I guess it makes sense that way. Still, it feels like it was a last minute change by Telltale the way it currently is in the game.
Really? Because I let the case blow up and the game said he was too dead to help me with the vault hunting thing
You serious right now?
If Felix used a flashbang to pretend to be dead, then Fiona would think that, and not try to find him
That still wouldn't make sense, though. You can see charred bits of money fluttering down from the sky.
Embellishing maybe?
Maybe him dying was part of the plan the whole time? He was expecting Fiona/Sasha to either kill him or let him die, as he seemingly had everything planned out as if he was going to be dead (the echo-comm back at the safe house where he says "I'm either dead or worse" and leaving gifts for Fiona/Sasha, etc. You could argue that the echo-comm in episode 5 also plays into it, since he says he altered it to show a live feed. Perhaps he originally recorded an apology where he explains the whole situation? Maybe the echo comm that was hidden behind the armoire was there the whole time?)
Fiona actually warning him catches him by surprise, so he adjusts his plan and throws the case away and escapes instead. The whole trick was to make the whole scene looks authentic. Him sacrificing himself to ultimately ensure Fiona and Sasha's safety seems like something he'd definitely do, especially since him running away/surviving could run the risk of potentially compromising the con. Maybe he just couldn't bear to go through with it after Fiona decided to warn him, despite having more than enough reason to let him die in the moment?
I dunno.
Is John? Are you? Is anyone?
Maybe it's like an alternate universe thing. In this person's playthrough, Felix was warned, so he lives and Telltale has you rewarded long term for his survival. In the other person's playthrough, Felix dies from no warning and you get instant gratification from the revenge of stealing the case. Both can happen, but one is only canon in your playthrough. It's only about the bigger con if he lives, because it's how to explain what happened to him. The choice to not tell him will only lead to his death and no bigger con since nothing else comes from his death.
Yeah I think that's it.
He planned it all out to die with the bomb and the money so Vallory wouldn't go after Fiona and Sasha, but I think if Fiona warns him, it could've triggered him in some emotional way, that maybe he doesn't want to die without them?
Maaaybe I shouldn't have shot Felix...
Dude,it was a joke,because he didn't say flashbang,but flashbag LOL
Is this real life?
