I wouldn't like to PLAY as the characters from TFTB as vault hunters because as others have said they rarely talk and you don't get to see them but I'd really expect for them to be in there somewhere. Like, TTG has just handed gearbox some amazing characters to potentially use in their game, I doubt they'd just completely ignore it and if they did I would be very salty. I think they will though. Too much has changed in the world for them to not even be referred to.
And in the ending of Dragon Keep about how the Crimson Raiders were gonna blow up Helios. I wonder of their reactions on BL3. Meaning, the BL2 vault hunters will return and maybe the Crimson Raiders and Atlas would work together...? Maybe...?
If not every single character from Tales makes at least some sort of appearance.
(Warning, Justifiable Nerdrage Incoming)
I'll be done… more, just done. Like seriously, these characters are easily the most interesting characters in the Borderlands universe at all.
If they don't get the respect they deserve, and Tales is forever known as some lame side story. I'll be legit done with Borderlands.
Well it's a gimmick it's nice but didn't add that much to the story. And the fact that they promoted it as such a big deal while not actually improving the gameplay was kind of a cherry on top of a stale cake. If they could have player input choices with dialogue, I'd prefer that. But first thing is first and that is actually taking a risk and expanding the gameplay.
They actually make the Vault Hunters in Borderlands the Presequel talk so that they actually feel like they have personalities. One of my favorite additions to the series.
Since TFTBL ending has created a massive impact on the Borderlands universe, I think I should update my hopes/pitch for BL3 (see the first pg of this thread).
So instead of the conclusion of the tutorial arc being an assault on Helios, maybe it's rescuing the Children of Helios from Bandits. So Vaughn and Sasha are leading the Children of Helios with help from characters like Cassius and members of the Crimson Raiders. But as a Vault Hunter you learn they are under attack from several Bandit clans who want revenge on Hyperion. And Lilith sends you to go rescue them, so you get this massive battle and your goal is save as many as you can, maybe have the percent of people saved will help later in the story. Anyway, the result of this battle is the Children of Helios end up on Sanctuary but this causes overcrowding and the Pandorans aren't too fond of former Hyperion stooges, so Rhys and Fiona show back up and Rhys takes them to Old Haven, and decides to keep rebuilding Atlas from there. Of course he will need help cleaning up Old Haven, so you get to help do that as a VH.
Shortly after, somehow the Raiders figure out a way, probably with Rhys and Fiona's help of having the Vault of the Traveler at their disposal, to teleport across the galaxy to hunt vaults. And there can be a part showing how your choices in TFTBL affect BL3 (like implied Rhysha or Rhyiona).
Maybe it'll be like Far Cry 4 when you decide to pick more of one persons mission besides the other, you end up being with that person and affects the ending..? Idfk

Since Zer0 can probably convince Lilith that Atlas are the good guys now because Rhys runs Atlas. But idfk how the story is gonna end up now. Everythings fine now maybe? Hopefully Timothy will return tho and join in?

Yeah, that's what I mean. So I'm excited to see what new villians and VH's they give us. I'm guessing it has something to do with the guardians though because the end of TPS hints at it.

I'm just saying that you shouldn't be that mad if not every character from Tales is in the game.
I mean, just because a character is missing doesn't really mean that much. I could understand your rage if, say, only a single character were in Borderlands 3. But if one character isn't there, that really shouldn't change much.

It all makes sense now
That's not really reasonable.

Like Helios. Whos gonna be the new enemies now?
Maybe they'll appear and give you side missions
Just imagine Krieg giving you missions XD
As NPCs maybe?

Considering how well recieved this game has gotten. I think it's reasonable enough.
At the very least, I say one of them will be a quest giver
Who knows... maybe the enemy is someone we once knew! Idfk I'm pumped for it tho!
