I have an old PS3 (one of the 'fat' ones so to speak) this thing was a 60GB that could play both PS1 and PS2 games (for the record these PS3's are kinda rare, especially now) Anyways, the thing has gotten the blinking red light of death about 4 times in it's life, and I have had it repaired 3 times. The guy actually refused to repair it a 4th time because he told me the last 2 times to buy a new one :P
So it's been sat in my room collecting dust for maybe 2 years, perhaps a little longer than that... I did get a replacement PS3, a 'slim' one with a higher GB capacity, but these models can't play PS2 games
When it died for the last time my copy of COD World At War was inside it and I wanted it back desperately (cuz COD Zombies is the shit!) So for ages I've been meaning to get a mate of mine to take it apart, but we never found the time to do it and now he is at Uni in another city... So about 3 hours ago I took it upon my self to take the damn thing apart, without any knowledge of what to do!
So I broke off the cover with a butter knife, and then unscrewed the rest of the components till I reached the component which had the disc inside. More screws loosened and I finally have it back! XD
I am so proud of myself right now:
