All Jacked Up
"Oh my god just kiss already!" Jack yelled at no one in particular.
Rhys turned away from Fiona, sharply glaring at him.
"What? Kiddo, do not tell me you don't see it yet?" Jack asked, leaning back on his invisible throne.
Rhys wanted to argue with him, he really did, but for the sake of whether or not Fiona thought he was phsyco he bit down on his tongue.
Rhys and Fiona had decided to search for food and anything useful around Old Haven while Vaughn and Sasha decided to stay with Scooter and the van.
Walking together in the dimly lit streets, the stars painting the night sky beautifully, Rhys could not help but think it was romantic.
So of course Jack had to tease him for it.
"See, this is your problem Rhysie! You never act! Be a man! Grow a pair, and do something already!" Jack yelled. He had grown sick of the 'will they won't they' and had finally decided to do something about it.
Rhys bristled. He really hated Jack. But he had made a point.
"There's a lot of stars out tonight." Rhys began.
"Yes, Rhys. I can see that." Fiona said, not looking at him.
"That's what you got? Might as well lock yourself in the friend zone now." Jack said, leisurely floating beside them.
Rhys sighed, his mind scrambling to find something.
"It's kinda romantic." Rhys said, turning his face to the stars so Fiona wouldn't see his blush.
"Umm, okay, I'm just going to ignore that you said that." She said, making Rhys feel like a creeper.
"Aww, she's blushing! Don't stop now kiddo, she's totally into it!" Jack said excitedly, his face inches away from Fiona's.
"No, really Fiona! I think it's nice. Just you, me, and the night sky." He said, finally looking at her with a small smile on his face.
She blushed deeper, turning away from his smile. "Rhys are you feeling okay?"
"This is it kiddo! Go in for the big guns!" Jack said, practically zooming through the sky in joy.
He opened his mouth, ready for a cheesy one-liner, and found he couldn't do it.
"S-sorry Fiona, my systems are all jacked up. Can't control what I say sometimes." Rhys explained, smirking at his own joke.
"Oh." Fiona said sounding almost disappointed.
"You call this jacked up? I'll show you just how jacked up your systems can get kitten!" Jack said before disappearing into the air.
Rhys suddenly felt the presence of their aloneness much more, and blushed.
Suddenly, a song began to play from nowhere, and loudly.
"Where is that coming from?!" Fiona asked, searching everywhere with her eyes.
"I-I think its me!" Rhys said, touching his port, feeling it vibrate with the beat of the music.
Fairy tales can come true
It can happen to you if you're young at heart
For its hard, you will find
To be narrow of mind if you're young at heart
"T-turn it off!" Fiona shouted.
Had she just, stuttered?
"I-I'm trying!" Rhys yelled back, slapping his mechanical arm in frustration.
"Try harder!" Fiona shouted.
Suddenly, his mechanical shot away from his body, having a mind of its own.
Fiona looked at Rhys, scared, before his arm grabbed her by the waist and pulled her close to him.
You can go to extremes with impossible schemes
You can laugh when your dreams fall apart at the seams
And life gets more exciting with each passing day
And love is either in your heart or on it's way
They both blushed a deep shade of red. Fiona turned her face away from him, while Rhys held his controllable arm on his head and away from Fiona.
"I'm sorry it does this sometimes." Rhys lied. His mechanics never did this.
"Yeah, well, remind me to kick the ass of whoever made your 'upgrades'." Fiona said, crossing her arms between them.
Rhys nodded, scared she might punch him for one wrong move.
Jack's voice broke through the music, but he sounded like he was holding his nose.
"Dancing sequence required for systems to return to normal." Jack said while trying to make his voice sound robotic.
"Oh come on!" Rhys yelled.
Fiona, not wanting to be caught in his arm any longer, quickly grabbed the hand on his head, and rested her opposite hand on his shoulder.
"Come on Hyperion boy, let's get this done. If your machine wants a dance I'll give it one." Fiona said, suspecting this was all a play Rhys had put on for her.
Robotics that required dancing to work? Okay, Rhys.
Rhys blushed beet red, the feeling of a warm hand in his own.
Slowly, they began to dance, slow dancing, but soon they caught the beat of the song.
Rhys twirled Fiona away from him, neither one realizing his mechanic arm had let go of her.
Their steps became fluid, practically bouncing in each step.
Don't you know that it's worth
Every treasure on earth to be young at heart
For as rich as you are
It's much better by far to be young at heart
As the song slowly began to shut itself off, Rhys picked Fiona up into the air by her waist, spinning her around.
"Put me down before I throw up on you Rhys!" Fiona chuckled.
Gently placing her on the ground, the silence wrapped around them.
"Well I guess we should get going-"
Fiona wrapped her arms around his neck, silencing him with a kiss.
"Shut up." She whispered in his ear, before kissing him again, this time him kissing her back.
Jack watched them, floating from a rooftop.
"Now that's jacked up!" He grinned beneath his mask.
