Anyone else hope season 2 is only 5 episodes?

Game of Thrones was probably my least favorite Telltale game, and I can't help but think it's because it was 6 episodes long, which slowed down the pace to make up for the extra time which made it feel boring

Maybe if season 2 is just 5 episodes it'll have a much faster pace and, as a result, be more exciting?

  • Don't know what you're talking about, it had me on edge throughout most of all Episodes, and through the entirety of the finale.

  • I liked 6 episodes

  • I believe the reasoning behind there being 6 episodes was because they used the first episode to set the story in motion. Gared had to be sent to the wall for the North Grove plotline, the deal with Ramsay had to go badly to put the Whitehills in power and put the Forresters in a bad position, and finally Malcolm had to be sent to Essos to find Asher.

  • It has nothing to do with the number of episodes. It's all about the writing

  • It depends on how many episodes the story needs, personally I think it might be 5 episodes because episode 1 of Season 1 felt like it was made so everyone could understand the situation of the Forresters.

  • It should be more episodes, game of thrones season 1 had major flaws because of how rushed it ways to kill people off, it needed depth and pace and should only kill people off because of the plot. It showed be at least six if not 8-10

  • Depends on how large they wish the story for season 2 to be. I'd personally love a 6 episode season 2.

  • I personally prefer slower paced stories myself, though I didn't think season one was particularly slow paced at all.

  • No 6 is great dont be a poon.

  • They can be ten for all I care. As many as they need to tell a good story.

I don't care for the number of episodes, as long as they can do something better than what we got with Season 1.

To me, the number of main characters was what didn't work so well, not the number of episodes. I get it, the multiple POVs is one of ASOIAF's things and that's great, but when you end up with about 30 minutes for each POV every few months it gets much harder to tell a meaningful story. I feel like not much happened on Mira and Gared's storylines, Asher's storyline being the one that seemed more packed with stuff going on all the time, for me. It is hard to ask for more screen time for these characters when the episodes have to be shared by 4 different POVs. The last episode had a little more screen time for Gared (not for Mira), which was great, but we had one less POV on it so that's one of the reasons why.

  • The plot is already established, so there's no need for a extra introductory episode like Season 1 (Iron from Ice) in Season 2.

  • Having six episodes in season 1 was great. I'd hate to see them go back to five. The more GoT the better.

  • On the contrary I believe that Season 2 NEEDS to be 6 episodes long.

With Rodrik/Asher surviving. and Mira's determinant status, I think that requires at least 1 whole additional episode apart from the standard five in order to flesh out those storylines.

We know Rodrik/Asher are going to die eventually somehow, probably so will Mira, so we should let their final storylines play out in the debut episode of Season 2, followed by your five episode story arc. Kind of like how Iron from Ice devoted most of its time on Ethan's character development and choices impacting future storylines after his death.

  • I don't want to be a broken record, or sound like an ass. But please stop saying we KNOW Asher/Rodrik will die. They might die, this is true, but you don't KNOW they will. I honestly believe that if Asher/Rodrik are going to die, it'll be to put the story in a certain direction, or to develop another character, or something, and that it won't be because they're determinant.

  • Keeping it at 5 makes it really predictable where the plot will take you each episode since we have like 20 series at once that do 5 episodes each, they should keep it mixed up with 6 or maybe more if they need to.

  • There is no way they can work on 6 whole episodes with determinant protagonists all the way, that's double the work and double the wait time between each episode.

Unless you can see the future, you don't know. I understand why you think that, but you don't know. And honestly, with Asher and Rodrik in the same role, I think they can mange it.

  • I know a lot of characters die in Game of Thrones. But every story have a character that is the foundation to the entire plot, if they are killed, then the writer's has killed the plot. I just feel that Rodrik/Asher is too important to have that role taken away and given to another. In my opinion, the ambush scene in episode 5, whoever survives becomes the established protagonist as the head of the Forresters.
