Will Torrhen bend the knee to save Highpoint?
Depending on if Ludd is dead, Torrhen would be the lord of Highpoint. Due to Highpoint's location, it could possibly be in the path of Stannis' army. Will torrhen bend the knee to Stannis or remain loyal to the Boltons. I would love it if we played as Torrhen and made the choice ourselves.

Seeing as how he works for the Boltons we'd have reason to believe he'd remain loyal however we don't know enough about him to guess what he'll do. For all we know he's a psychotic mercenary and one of Roose's hitman or a good guy cast to the Boltons by Ludd
If the game were based on the books, then yes, this would definitely be an obvious plot point for season 2. But given it's based on the show, where Stannis doesn't bother to meet with anyone at all on the way south, I doubt it will happen. Not to mention the fact, that any player who has watched the show will know what eventually happens with Stannis, so siding with him or the Boltons wouldn't be much of a choice.
I've mentioned this before, but I don't think Torrhen is anything like Gryff or Ludd. Going by the law of averages, he's probably more along the lines of a Gwyn. Would Telltale make a 3rd blowhard Whitehill character? Plus, his name is Torrhen..lol
I wouldn't say he'd necessarily bend the knee if he was lord, but I also don't think he'd attack or kill the Forresters either.
Torrhen serving under Lord Bolton as a ward isn't a good sign, but who knows. Maybe Ludd forced him, or Ludd was forced to make Torrhen a ward under Lord Bolton.
Another thing that makes me wonder is Ludd NEVER mentions Torrhen once. Also, when Ramsay asked who'd lead the garrison, it was his 4th born son Gryff, and not Torrhen. Makes me believe there may be something there like Torrhen hating his Father/Gryff or something.
We'll find out more in season 2 I'm sure.
I hope the game realises how half baked the show was and resorts to following the books, at least on this point, if nothing else. Stannis should be a beacon of hope for the North and a skillful military general, not the half wit fanatic Benioff and Weiss think he is.
Yeah, clearly Highpoint would be a natural stop on The Kingsroad for Stannis, on his way south to Winterfell.
But since the Forresters side with Stannis in the books, I think it would make more sense that Stannis sides with them rather than one of house Bolton's most loyal bannermen.
Perhaps Stannis will be the one who saves house Forrester in the next season.
Until he dies and everything goes back to shit and they get in more trouble with the Boltons
Except the Boltons are in no position to deal with the Whitehills. It's winter and Sansa has escaped. If Torrhen has doubts about serving the Boltons and is smart, he will realize that this is his chance to break loose, regardless of who wins or not.
You're absolutely right, but they won't. They can't switch from one canon to another mid-game. That would cause too many problems.
They can't follow the books. Their contract is with HBO.
To be fair, House Forrester only exists in the books. Asha Greyjoy mentions that they already HAVE joined Stannis.
I'm not sure the contract specifically says they cannot follow the books. Often games do not strictly follow "cannon".
Maybe it's wishful thinking....
But the Forresters NEED Stannis, the REAL Stannis.
To be fair, in the books they are a clan, not a noble house at all. And all that is mentioned is that Lady Glover provides trackers from said clan to lead Stannis through the woods. There is no mention of the Forrester family as we know it at all, and any allegiance to Stannis has been established automatically through their loyalty to the Glovers, nothing more (for all we know, the Forrester family are all dead by that point in the book and the trackers are just a few smallfolk who survived and escaped Ironrath, then fled to Deepwood Motte). Literally the only thing the game has taken from the book is the word 'Forrester' and their rough location, the rest is already extrapolation and deviation.
But the main reason they can't follow the book canon with regards to what Stannis does, is because their contract is with HBO and any player who has watched the show but not read the books (which will be a lot of them) is going to be thrown off by such a divergent storyline to what they already know. Also, what do you think the REAL Stannis would do for the Forresters exactly? It's not like he's going to take back Ironrath for them. He's a little busy trying to get to Winterfell before they all freeze to death, to be solving the problems of a half dead lord and his little siblings. More than likely whatever is left of the Forrester's people will just be conscripted into fighting for him, much like the Whitehills will be summoned to defend the Boltons, and the conflict from season 1 will be entirely forgotten and superseded by an 'actual' war, as opposed to a posturing skirmish between two minor noble families. Which is why I feel like, if they feature Stannis at all in season 2, it will be at the Wall through Gared's POV, not with the Forresters at all.
Isn't a clan a minor house?
They could be dead, or they could be laying low, but the fact that Martin didn't mention individual names just means that they aren't important to Asha and gives TellTale some leeway.
I think Stannis could offer them protection from the Whitehills/Boltons, but you're right he has bigger fish to fry.
There is a difference. For instance, the wildlings are split into 'clans', as are the primitive fighters that Tyrion meets in the Vale and later conscripts to his cause. The term is more indicative of an extended family that controls an area of land, than any sort of appointed or recognised nobles. The Northern mountain clans are sometimes considered 'petty lords' and are technically ruled over by the Starks, but are usually ignored and left to their own devices.
