The North Grove... and Duncan
So if you picked Royland as your Sentinel Duncan is the traitor. This we all know to be true. And it's clear that Duncan has been giving the Whitehills a lot of information on the Forresters.
Do you think he kept his word to keep Gregor's secret or did he spill the beans on the North Grove as well? He said he swore an oath to Gregor, not Ethan or Rodrik (I realize Royland says much the same thing). Would this put his nephew's life in peril? Do you think House Whitehill would do anything about it? I personally doubt it (venturing that far north for what most consider a fairy tale wouldn't be something I think most people would do).
I should mention I don't think he would betray Gregor's final orders for him, but I'm curious what others think.

If you ask Duncan as Rodrik if he told the Whitehills about the North Grove he says "no they've never heard the name. I've kept the secrets that mattered."
And then I killed him. So yes, Duncan didn't tell the Whitehills about the North Grove, as Rodrik can ask him (thus also confirming Rodrik is aware of the North Grove).

Do you really trust the words of a traitor?
He said he didn't mention a word of it to the Whitehills. For the most part I believe him, although I thought it was really suspicious that Britt showed up at the Wall.
I can't help but feel that these lines of dialogues fits so well! I mean, in any other version, it just doesn't fit as well.
The only reason he showed up at the wall, was because Telltale wanted give us a poisoned gift. Poisoned because not matter what you do, Gared ends up in trouble for it.
I've always thought that as well. Though I didn't pick that option--which I feel would be the canon dialogue for that scene--I went for the "You're not family." instead, because I was so hurt by the betrayal, and was playing Rodrik the same. I know the traitor plotline gets such a bad rap on here--but the Rodrik-Duncan traitor scene is one of my favorites. For my game anyway, it was just so emotional, well acted and written.
He raped a 8-year old girl, killed her father, got one or two men killed and his ass kicked by a pig farmer.
A Bolton-banner-man shows up at the wall and volunteers to go to Craster's keep? Where have I heard that before? Oh yes, that is Lock's story in season 4! I will guess that Britt is one of the men that Roose Bolton sent to find and kill Bran.

Yeah but it didn't make much sense that Ludd would send him there. Britt said he was doing what Ludd ordered, and Ludd also brought Britt to Ironrath and used him to lie about what happened. That shows he either believes Britt's version, or he cared more about leverage over the Forresters than actually punishing Britt for his crimes. Either way, it was suspicious to me that Britt showed up shortly after we found out there was a traitor. Could have easily been due to Duncan telling Ludd about the North Grove instead.
I suppose it's possible.
Well if a bunch of Whitehill men turn up at the North Grove, we'll know what happened.
The way he talked about her that made me sure he did.But it is true, we do not know.
I think Ludd personally knows that the Forresters are in the right, as Ethan can tell him "We're in the right Lord Whitehill! Remember that!" and it says 'He will..." rather then "He will remember this/that". But that's admittedly slim evidence.
I have to wonder if Britt's dialogue changes at all if you told Ludd about Gared having been sent to the Wall. I mean, he can be there when Ethan says that's where he was sent, so if he was surprised at all by seeing Gared it wouldn't make much sense.
Word, that was such an amazing scene! Duncan annoyed me from the first though and I have this nagging suspicion that "I've kept the secrets that mattered" included Elsera and Josera and he just didn't tell Rodrik because it was so out of left field that everyone would have been pissed and killed him for sure. -_-

I remember playing it first time and being so immersed. Flipping between sad, and angry, then sad again. Plus, it made perfect sense for me -- After all, it's in Duncan's character to work in secret, I played Rodrik as aggressive and defiant, went with all of Royland's advice, and so everything came together perfectly and tragically for my story...
Another thing, in The Ice Dragon--which I don't think anybody has mentioned yet--there is this throwaway line. If Gared mentions how Gregor trusted him, Josera responds with: "Yes, well, he never was a very good judge of character."
The second he said that, I immediately thought about how Duncan was Gregor's best and most trusted friend who ended up betraying him and the house. And how one Tuttle worked to destroy House Forrester, the other one worked to save it. Gives such an interesting dynamic to the whole story. A shame most people end up with the illogical clusterfuck that is Royland's betrayal.
The only betrayal that happens there, is the betrayal of the writers on his character imo.

I don't think he raped her, he was just a sadistic asshole who enjoyed the pain of others.
