  • Uh-huh. I know I want this, but the fact that I don't know really what it is makes me so intrigued. I'm kind of glad we didn't get news on this game and its gameplay elements every 3 months...

Yup, I think that's what makes it so interesting, something about it gives you that feel of lonesomeness and calmness, but you feel like something is just...off.

  • The hell are you talking about? Undertale didn't get overhyped at all, no one expected what we got, it surpassed everyone's expectations and threw them in the trash.

I just don't want the game to get overhyped to such a degree that it suffers like FO4 or Undertale is currently. Well, FO4 had a shit ton

Well, it's here, been playing it for an hour or so, loving it. But I have a question, does your character's background change. My character's wife has dementia. Do you guys have the same story?

  • Yes, I think she has dementia no matter what.

For those of you who have already started playing, without spoiling too much, does the game live up to all the teasers that have been shown? I've been waiting for this game for about two years (aka since it was revealed) and now, after buying it and currently waiting for it to finish, I'm getting those pre-game worries... *(Darn slow internet connection... grumble grumble...)

I assume some of you have already started, considering that @iRunts has already posted a spoiler which I'm trying to restrain myself from opening... "No! Must not find out secrets of game!..."

  • It's good from what i played, but i haven't gone too far in the story, i just started day three.

  • Right now Im on the second day and I like it alot.

My one complain. Its really easy to get lost. Almost annoying so, I want to get back to the story, I dont want to be stumbling though the woods forever.

  • Do you look at your map? Or are you avoiding it so it can be an "immersive experience". THAT is what I'm excited for in this game. Oh, and y'know, the story...

  • I've played a bit. Really good so far from what I've played. As Poogers said, it's easy to get lost.

Also, as a friendly headsup if you buy it, make sure you're not too close to bushes or (apparently) rocks, cause you'll get stuck and you will have to start over.

Hm, is that applicable to all platforms? I've heard PS4 gets some technical problems, and not many complaints from the PC department. I'm getting this on PS4 so I hope it works fine. (I don't really get many bugs on my console games, so I'll probably be safe.) Any of you PS4 peeps having problems or no?

Also, I just downloaded the theme for ps4. It looks goood. And sounds pretty nice. Kinda top-notch art style. I'm digging it. Can't wait to start this game... tomorrow. Internet is screwed up, and it'll take "4 hours left" so, eh, whatever. School has been acting all quick recently so I'm ok with that.

  • So, I finished the game, and what did everyone think?

I was kinda hoping for a small little ending scene with Henry going back to his wife.

I thought it was a little strange that because Ned got Brian killed, Ned decided to live out in the wilderness, and just be, weird I guess, but it was really good. The ending was actually kinda sad, how we never get to see Delilah because she decides to leave before we get there and saying what we think the other should do.

Henry is defiantly one of my most favorite characters ever created though, very well written and voiced.

  • Yeah I looked at my map, really after day 2 I was fine, there was just a path you had to find and It was kinda really hidden so it took me a long time to find it.

  • I literally just finished it four minutes ago. I liked it a lot -- the environment, the writing, the voice acting... but that ending was so underwhelming. I already read on IGN that the ending was anti-climatic, but it's like they didn't even try. Just thought they'd go for that whole minimalistic thing... eh. Never got to see Delilah, or Ned, or Julia, or anyone really. No final scene. No anything.

So, in the end, it was a good game, a good experience, but the painful minimalism and lack of effort towards the end really brought it all down, as far as I'm concerned.

I'd give it a 7/10 (which is generous, I was leaning towards a 6). A good game, but by no means a must-play masterpiece like some people want to herald it as. I enjoyed my time with it, but I can't really see myself replaying it, and I fill kinda unfulfilled now that I reflect on it all. I understand they wanted to make the whole story very open to interpretation--but that doesn't excuse the shear underwhelming nature of the last act, in my opinion.

Though I agree Henry was a great character. Very compelling.

I personally liked the ending. I like the way that they decided to ground it and play it straight, and have some respect for them choosing to go that route. No sci-fi or supernatural twist to it, just three people that basically end up in a huge misunderstanding between each other due to a combination of isolation, paranoia, and grief.

I can understand why people are underwhelmed by it, sure, but I think there's some amount of underlying brilliance to it as well.

  • It's pretty good so far. I think I'm on day 76(?) Something like that anyway. The games optimization isn't very great though. I would get 60 and immediately would have it go down to like 10 and back to 60 after walking a few feet. As others have said it's VERY easy to get lost and it can be very frustrating looking at your map and seeing you've been going completely the wrong way. (Thank god there is a jog button). The story seems pretty interesting and Henry and Dahlila's chemistry is fantastic. it's fun responding to her conversations and I've grown attach to her character fairly quickly. I think I might be over halfway done with the game, but I'll come back once I finish and give my full thoughts (whenever that may be).

  • i completed it rather quickly, no matter though it was worth the money to me, and i completed it in one sitting which is how i wanted it, i enjoyed it, and i liked the themes in it (mystery, paranoia, isolation, banter and romance) i perhaps wanted to see henry and delilah get together, but i also disagreed with her on the whole wife thing (i intentionally left my ring to burn) so it probably wouldn't have worked out, and maybe you could see it as an anti climax, but it felt more real to me the way it worked out.

  • Finished it today and I really liked it! The visuals were great and so was the voice acting. Felt really relaxed at first, then really annoyed because of a couple characters in the game, then really paranoid, then legitimately scared, paranoid again, and finally relaxed. It was a little shorter than I thought it'd be (Clocked in 3 hours), but overall I thought it was great.

  • Oh, ok, I see. Actually, no, I have no idea what you are talking about. I'm just bored. Trying to interact with someone. You can ignore this now...
