Gryff or Ludd?

In episode 6 one dies and the other survives and they make it harder to kill Ludd because he would be the preferable target as he is the stronger and wiser oponent. And he is probably a much better Lord than Gryff. But if there was no advantage in killing Ludd and you just had to choose the one you wanted to die the most, who would it be?
In my playthrough I killed Ludd as Rodrik but if there was no advantage in that I would've killed Gryff.

Ludd should to be the one to die. He is the main target of House Forrester. We better leave Gryff for Season 2, he is too such a coward bitch to have him killed.

  • Well I would rather have Ludd die. But at the same time Gryff would become Lord and I wouldn't want that to happen.

  • I killed Gryff with Rodrik, Its time that craven dies.

  • I'd chose Gryff to die. Ludd is a better character imo. He is smart(er than the Forresters) and I hold wy more respect towards him which is not dificult, since I don't respect Gryff at all. I'm glad that Gryff is dead in my canon c:

  • I always kill Ludd, he's the main priority of the Forresters IMO. Very pissed that Amaya and the Lord are like "Killing Ludd will mean they will scatter off like chickens!" yet it literally doesn't do anything except one less fighting man. However, killing Gryff is so satisfying, especially with Rodrik.

  • I definitely agree Ludd is the smartest antagonist we face in the series (Morgryn was so stupid in episode 6 I lost all respect for his cunning) but I feel like Duncan/Mira are just as smart and Rodrik can be as well (depending on how you play him)

They're all smart in different ways... but if Rodrik and Duncan died, Ludd is unquestionably the smartest man left in the series (which is slightly scary)

  • Why not? He would lead the House to ruin if he became Lord. He would sacrifice all of his men just to find Talia and the surviving brother, and that would lead to House Whitehill's fall. Nothing wrong there.

  • But how would Gryff become lord. Forgot Torrhen?

  • No, I didn't forget him, but there is no confirmation that Telltale will even include him in the story, so I'm just speaking on the possibility that Telltale doesn't include him in Season 2, though it's unlikely.

  • I think it's better to get Gryff out of the way, he's already been too much of a bitch that enough is enough already.

And, I'd rather have a smart antagonist for season 2 because the game will be more fun that way :)

  • My decision to go after Gryff as Rodrik was instantaneous. I owed it to Asher to take his head and I wanted to ensure Ryon's safety. (I find it hard to believe that Rodrik, especially my Rodrik, would risk another one of his brothers dying)

And I think it was the right choice. Not only is the Rodrik-Gryff fight the most satisfying of all the variants, Ludd is just a better overall character, and a smarter leader. Watching Gryff command the Whitehill forces during the Battle of Ironrath doesn't feel, or look right, at least to me. Whereas it does with Ludd.

I also think Gryff's death in Rodrik's version is the most fitting death out of all of them. Ludd dies with Lady Elissa in Asher's version, which sucks. Gryff dies defiantly after having held off Asher admirably in his version, which again in my opinion, sucks. Ludd takes his death like a man in Rodrik's version, which saps a bit of the satisfaction out of it. But Gryff in Rodrik's version... he watches his soldiers die, he watches Ryon get rescued, and then he cries in the mud before getting his head ripped off by Rodrik, the man he's been humiliating and oppressing the entire game. Hands down, the best Whitehill death.

Plus it makes the most sense for setting up Season 2 -- with the Lord of House Forrester and Whitehill still alive, the war is on-going, at least by Ramsay's terms.

Though, ultimately, it just came down to the fact I wanted to kill Gryff more than Ludd, I really wanted to rescue Ryon, and I'd rather put up with Ludd--a competent villain--than Gryff, a craven and "petulant fourthbourn." in Season 2. :)
