What if Gregor Forrester never would have died?

Would it bring ruin to the house? or would they live in Glory now

  • Ultimately the war would've still happened, Gregor wouldn't really change anything. He'd just have Rodrik's role.

  • He probably would have been able to save rodrik AND asher

I've thought about this countless times, with the help of the forums I've come to the conclusion that nothing would be different except from, drum roll please...

The traitor. Royland/Duncan wouldn't have betrayed Gregor, they would have stayed loyal. In that case if there was a traitor it would probably be the Maester.

They would still be outnumbered, sure they would probably have more men if Gregor had survived, less of them would have fled but they would probably still lose to the Whitehills.

  • Agree about everything.
But maybe Asher and Rodrik would still be alive

  • Sure if Gregor was secretly superman.

He probably would have been able to save rodrik AND asher

  • Well.. Contrary to the others, I believe it would change things. First of all, he would use the North Grove as he knows what its true purpose is. Gared might not be sent to the Wall.
He has more autority. Also he might sacrifice himself for Asher or Rodrik as in E5.

Kateis said the traitor would be the Maester.. Yes there are traitors in dat order (one of them tried to betray Stannis in the lore of aSoIaF) but still, I don't see why he would do that. He always was loyal in that house.

  • By sacrificing himself.

He probably would have been able to save rodrik AND asher
