About this "Asher or Rodrik" Struggle
First, Asher had a HUGE Fanbase. At my first playthrough it was "You and 30% left Asher behind"
But now, After some months it's exactly the opposite. I oppened many discussions here and now the People
seem to Favour Rodrik. It's not a bad thing, I LOVE both Characters, It's just interesting how that Changed.
On my PS4 it's now "You and 54% Left Asher behind"
What is your opinion about that?

People do have a habit of changing their choices. And I highly doubt that when the episode first released that the stats were 100% accurate. In my mind the choice was always 50/50. Both Asher and Rodrik are fan favourites.
For me on Steam it says "You and 39.7%" left Asher behind."
Noo way, I've spent hours and hours and hours watching let's plays, on Twitch and Youtube, it is a very rare thing to find anyone who saves Rodrik. And you need only visit the comment sections or steam forums, and once upon a time, the forums here, to see how incredibly anti-Rodrik and pro-Asher everyone is, as a general rule.
Rodrik has always been a popular character, even more so than Asher until Episode 5, where everyone flip-flopped. However, what's happened now is, many of the idiotic people who left Rodrik because of brain-dead reasoning such as:
HE'S A CRIPPLE! Nope, he's recovered, and wrecking Whitehills with ease.
THE ARMY WONT FOLLOW HIM! You mean the ten pit fighters? Yeah, he forced them in line easily, as I said he would from day-1.
ASHER IS MORE BADASS! Even though his attitude and methods of fighting throughout the episode are mild compared to Rodrik's?
IT WAS HIS DUTY TO DIE! Nope, as lord, he is the last person who's duty it is to die. You don't sacrifice a king for a knight.
I COULDN'T SPLIT UP ASHER AND BESKHA! So you'd split up Rodrik and Elaena instead, as well as break the hearts of the Sentinel, Lady Forrester, and Talia?
ASHER CAN WIN THE WAR! Well, considering he loses by default, with the death of Rodrik, that's impossible.
IT WAS MORE IN RODRIK'S CHARACTER TO STAY BEHIND! I'd beg to differ...
Anyway, all these things which, to me and to most people with a brain, were obvious; have now been officially proven to be true. Hence, why Rodrik now has this new-found popularity again. Not that it changes anything, ultimately. Asher is still the most popular Forrester. And I get it, he's amazing, it is just the ratios of the preference that sadden me. As @JonDee013 said, it feels more like 1/100 save Rodrik, when watching people play the game (which I do very, very often).
So my opinion now, is what it's always been: they are both--by significant degrees--the two greatest characters in the series. (Certainly, my two favourites). And I would love nothing more to see the fan-base, and the actual statistics, dead-on 50% (as it was when I first finished Episode 5, the day it came out!). However, that is not to be -- Asher is the most saved brother, and the consensus is, saving him is the right thing to do. Still, I adore Asher, so I can deal with it better than say, the Kenny-Jane situation, where only one of them have any appeal to me whatsoever. And this "struggle" has provided many interesting topics and debates, ever since it started last July, so there is that, at least.
I've seen multiple people save Rodrik, and multiple criticise others for saving Asher.
Oh, yeah it happens, but it's the vast minority.
But it's everywhere... I get that there are a lot of immature people that rant about Rodrik being crippled but that's because they're immature. Even if it's not 50/50 Rodrik isn't that far down in the minority.
He is, though. Perhaps not statistically. And perhaps not as much as he used to be.
But as someone who watches people play the game religiously (I love seeing other's peoples choices and reactions), reads the Steam forums, the Twitch comments, the Youtube Comments, and as I said, once upon a time here, it's pretty obvious how much of a huge Asher preference there is.
Idk, from what I've seen I feel like more people on Telltale forums saved Rodrik.
On the Telltale forums, it feels like that now yes, because they--like myself--are the most vocal. Largely in part, because they have to be.
But as I said, you need only look anywhere else (including, you know, the game and the actual statistics), to see they are the minority.
I never saw any "Anti" Anything.
Its 50/50
Wow, you are completely Right.
How is Haytham doing btw? Hahaha
Take these statistics with a pinch of salt. At least a third of people have about a dozen playthroughs, apparently. In my one play through it was 50% even, but that was only a day after the episode release.
Source?
All in all this entire post is pretty funny. Your counter arguments to all of the bullet-pointed examples are borderline retarded. You feel entirely too strongly about a video game, It's plenty pitiful. I'd advise that you go outside and get some fresh air sometime, if you can physically manage.
This is a large contradiction followed immediately after your dismissal of any reasons for choosing Asher as "brain-dead".
I think I've had an exchange with you before, it's kinda hard to keep up with all the hard-on for Rodrik forum members with basic avatars but I'm pretty sure.
Please, Don't start any fights here.. Everybody has his own Opinion, Dillon-Dex was quite Right with the things he said, That does not mean he has no life or something like that.
On the contrary nothing he said was "right". Furthermore the only thing "right" you said albeit worded incorrectly is that "everybody has his own opinion". He does not respect others opinion and has made a non factual claim that "Rodrik has always been a popular character, even more so than Asher until Episode 5". I'd like to see a source. This is not a "fight", I don't do that on the internet.
Then it's "Bickering"
I don't Think he made a factual claim, I just think It is his opinion. This Opinion is the same like mine, so in my words it's "right" But not for all of the people.
Sorry if I wrote it down incomprehensible
Well, I've been on these forums religiously since the game's debut, so that's my anecdotal evidence. For further evidence, you need only check back at old posts.
The person with never-ending animosity, preaching to me about what's healthy. That's rich. And I was under the impression we all felt strongly about Telltale and their products -- otherwise, why are we here? I'd advise you to think on that... if you can.
I didn't dismiss any reasons for choosing Asher as brain-dead, I simply dismissed the specific reasons I listed to be such.
Yeah, I know, right? First of all, there's people feeling strongly about Telltale games on the Telltale website. And after that, there's people expressing their opinions and preferences for certain characters in those games... I mean wtf? Weird, huh?
Are you certain about that? Not that I'm doubting you, but I always thought tha the statistics were universal and did not change from platform to platform. In my steam it says that 60% of people left Rodrik. If anyone else can provide other console statistics I'd be very grateful.
Honestly I always feel really worried in situations like this. I keep thinking that TellTale will always try to benefit the majority. For example only 12% of people who had the Asher playthrough chose to call off the plan. That represents about 6% of the community and I can't help but feel worried that they won't put much effort into it just because it a 'big minority'.
Anyways most of these statistics get less and less accurate with time because of multiple playthroughs.
You're right about pretty much everything you wrote, apart frm this. We see Asher fight for 5 episodes, he fights sellswords, a dragon, city guards and can even use stealth.
We see Rodrik fight a bit in Episode 1 and a bit in Episode 5 and that does not mean he's a bad fighter.
The only time we can really compare their skill is in the last scene in Episode 5 where both kill pretty much the same amount of Whitehill soldiers and in the whole Episode 6 where they both are able to overpower Gryff and kill Harrys in the exact same way. I wouldn't say one's better than the other because they both fight exactly the same way.
I think he meant Rodrik's attitude and fighting in Episode 6 compared to Asher. Not across the whole game.
Moot. Still not evidence, but at least you can admit that it is anecdotal. I honestly wasn't expecting you to get past your raging hard-on to recognize this.
lol, tf are you talking about?
Not written in stone but to a degree I would imagine as well. When your aggressively attacking others reason for playing the way they did you might want to consider medication, because clearly you feel a little too strongly. At least in my opinion. I don't visit this site that often but when I do come around I usually double back on my most recent post just to read some of my past discussions. There I found you butting in aggressively when I was just sharing my opinion with the OP of why I saved Asher. It wouldn't surprise me if your entire post count consist of why you like Rodrik more.
Alright then. I also talk about episode 6 so my point stands.
It's not bickering until it becomes trivial back and forth. I had a real inquiry so I asked him. If anyone responded to this thread with "a fight" in mind, it was DillionDex with his opening sentence, not me. So if you want to try an censor someone, try him. Won't be me though.
Well, I'm glad at least one of us are full of surprises.
I'm talking about perspectives, or trying to.
I'm not ashamed to admit I'm incredibly passionate about this game and Rodrik in general as a character. I make reference to this fact enough. Hell, I've even said on multiple occasions, most of my post counts are discussions of this decision. So you've said nothing I've not already said about myself... on here no less.
Even still, I really don't think you're the person to be accusing others of aggressively attacking people. Maybe you should check back on your own comments... And I love how you call replying to someone "butting in." as if, you know, this is a private chat-room instead of a public forum. Then again, I suppose I also shouldn't be surprised, since I'm talking to someone who can't wrap their head around the fact people feel strongly about Telltale Games on the forum for discussing Telltale Games.
It does, sorry lol I didn't mean to be a dick.
Oh, you weren't, after all I did talk about other episodes.
I like the game, that's why I'm here. I don't however, want to stick my dick through the hole of a physical copy like your personality projects. Moreover your aggression towards opposing opinions is quite over the top. Would you believe Rodrik is also my favorite character?
I do realize that this is a public forum so I definitely don't mind people responding to me in any way. I referred to it as "butting in" because of how defensive you got towards what I made so clearly as being my own opinion. Which led to bickering. Anyway I won't repeat that, nothing too much more to say here so I'm done lol
k
Well, your mind works in mysterious ways, so yes I would.
As am I.
Well, Unfortunately it was you who started "Bickering" or "Fighting" or whatever.
It was you who started to be a bit aggressive and against all arguments,
You can hide it through smart and long- Not well known words, but you are not fooling anyone.
I am sorry if it came a bit Rude. It wasn't meant that way.
Lol ? O.O
I will check it out tomorrow morning
Well, "unfortunately" you're wrong and there's nothing you can say to persuade me to believe otherwise. The proof is in the pudding as they say, and anyone who has at least semi-decent reading comprehension skills likewise know the same.
lol, it was confusing at first if anything. A little insulting to yourself as well, but not rude towards me at all. I'm sorry that you don't know certain words. I'll try to dial the vocab back a little in future discussions.
Now you are insulting? That's not very polite, my little boy.
But I could judge by who of us gets more likes at their comments to be right, eh?
Lets behave now. I am sorry if I came up "insulting"
lets end that crap now.
I have it on PS4 aswell and last time I check it does go universally
Okay, Maybe I failed, or maybe it changed.
I am sorry
Nothing to be sorry about, we all make mistakes
I didn't insult you, you insulted yourself by making it obvious that you have a poor vocabulary.
Don't call me your "little boy" btw, I'm 23 years old and that's just creepy as fuck.
The only reason you're getting likes on your comments (not that those mean anything) is because of the Rodrik fandom of children that are backing everything you post right now, same case for the other clown DexDillion or whatever. I don't post for "likes", they mean absolutely jack shit. And just because a couple half-wits have "liked" your post doesn't mean you have any leverage, because clearly you aren't that smart and logically I'm stomping you. It's ironic, you asked for no "fights", but here you are "bickering".
P.S my ratio of "likes" to post is far better than yours. You probably didn't realize because you don't know math. That's gotta sting considering you care about them and I don't.
They mean nothing to you but you still have to put it down that you get more than me ?
You are a quite cute, little, Provoking person, aren't you ?
Back in my schooldays I had a guy in the Class, who behaved just like you. He thought he's it. He's the "Almighty"
But.. Suddenly, he overreacted and thought he is quite the Logic-Man. Like Rain-man you know?
Listen.
I offer to stop this nonsense now. I am still sorry if I provoked you somehow.
Let's end that? Deal ?
No, I don't know. Because that literally makes no sense and you clearly are mentally ill. The person who liked your post doesn't even know what the hell you're talking about, but you share a hard-on for the same virtual character so of course it's all good.
I get a very child-molester-esque vibe from you. You type like someone who traps children for a living, tbh
uhm... Wtf? ^^
You are actually right about the mental illness. I have Schizophrenia, but that doesn't change anything here.
So you don't except my offer to end this senseless shit?
