Davos' unexplained change of heart
Oh well. Doesn't anyone else find absolutely weird the fact that Davos cares for Jon Snow out of nowhere and is even willing to die for him? He even begs mellisandre to help him, the woman that got both Stannis and Shireen killed ( You can't tell me that Davos didn't care for stannis and shireen because well, he did.) After 6 seasons Davos suddenly starts believing in magic and shit and is convinced that mellisandre can help Jon. I might have missed it but I don't recall davos asking mellisandre about what happened at winterfell even though his goal was to help Stannis sit in the iron throne. Thank you D&D

Does he know what happened there specifically? Also hes never liked her but since they both agreed the wall was the biggest issue they have been uneasy allies really
Hes seen her do magic, I dont think hes had a problem with it working, hes had an issue with the morality of what she does
Slightly but Davos saved gendry and was willing to die to save him, its kind of what he does. Also its not like Davos has much to live for, Stannis was his purpose without that he may as well do thhis

I'd add that Davos understands that Jon is important if they want to take the North from the Boltons (which was what Stannis tried to do) and also to keep peace between NW and the Wildlings.
Good answers, I agree with them all. I didnt find what Davos was doing strange in the least for those reasons.
This too. I also think his sense of honor was insulted by the foul way Jon was tricked and murdered.
I don't think Davos disbelieved in Mellisandre's power because he has seen examples of it. He just disagreed with her methods. But now he is desperate enough to ask for her help. Although he didn't know Jon very well, he respects him as a strong, principled leader and recognises that he has an important part to play in the war.
I don't think Davos has any idea how Shireen died or that Mellisandre was involved. He probably assumes she just died in the fighting. When he finds out the truth, it will tear apart their tenuous truce.
