Asher and Dragons
Is Asher the only Westerosi who traveled to Essos, saw an actual living dragon and then crossed the narrow sea back to Westeros?
It just dawned over me that all the Westeros based main characters in Game of Thrones (TV series) have not yet seen a dragon, creatures believed to be extinct and held in near mythical regard. Characters from Westeros who have seen a dragon (Tyrion, Varys) are still in Essos.
Is there any other character from Westeros apart from Asher who has both seen a dragon in Essos and then returned back?

Varys' little birds probably have, though I don't know how many are from Westeros or actually returned there to deliver the news.
-Quentyn Martell, if he's actually not dead.
-Doran Martell, Arianne Martell are aware there are dragons, even iff they didn't saw them yet.
Travellers saw it, or hear rumors.
-In show Tywin is aware, but didn't see them too.
-Varys.
But even if Quentyn is alive, I doubt he has already traveled back to Westeros? Because I think that was the question here, is there a character who has seen the dragons in Essos and then traveled to Westeros. In the show Varys has seen the dragons but hasn't traveled back to Westeros (yet), and in the books I don't think he ever left Westeros? Or do I remember this wrong? I mean I know he didn't travel with Tyrion like in the show, but I think it was implied he hid the whole time in the Red Keep from releasing Tyrion to killing Kevan.
If Quentyn is alive, He will. But yeah, speculations here.
As for Varys you're right, I mixed both character.
I was a bit out of subject indeed yeah. :^)
Just came to my mind that Euron might actually be a character who has seen the dragons and then traveled to Westeros. And no, I don't support the Daario=Euron theory, but I think it's plausible he would've caught a glimpse of the dragons before returning to the Iron Isles even without that theory.
Yes you're right; he caught the Warlocks who were on their way to Dany so it musn't be a hazard if he was near there. And if you want to capture dragons you should check if your main argument for the Kingsmoot is true. So there is some high probability he saw them.
Probably not, because they probably would have warned the crown or at least a few lords, but basically nobody in Westeros is actually worried about dragons. Dragons are like White Walkers in that both the smallfolk and the nobility tend to write them off as rumor and superstition. They are also similar in that people very seldom escape an encounter with one, which makes Asher a rare exception.
I wonder if Telltale realized that. Really made Asher quite distinguished - so many in Westeros probably still dismiss stories about the resurgence of dragons - those who do actually see dragons for themselves have never returned to Westeros and told others about their brief adventure with a dragon.
I wonder if the Forrester history will record Asher's near fantastical encounter with a dragon - he actually faced such a beast and survived and returned back home. Remarkable how he was just an exiled mercenary from a minor third tier nobility.
