Ethan was my favorite Telltale protagonists thus far. :v So of course he gets killed off at the end of the first episode. GG Ethan.
Rodrik and Mira are my current faves to play right now, a lot of painful choices to be made.
Right now, Rodrik and Mira. Mira because she's politically very trapped in King's Landing and trying to find a way for her to escape trouble is pretty fun. Rodrik because he has the most important decisions out of everyone. He's got his whole family's world balancing on his shoulders.
I can sadly understand why, he didn't get the characterization and growth he deserved. Which I still find complete bullshit, why give us a great character with so much potential only to suddenly and violently kill him off? Traditional GoT and TTG style be damned.
Asher, for the character. I like the idea of the conflictions with his family and the Whitehills, and how that will play out.
Rodrik also. I like both the character and his place in the story, since he's right in the middle of it. I could do without his mother being involved in his scenes though.
Definitively Mira. From the beginning I loved her, even when I was trapped. It's more like it was fun to be trapped with her but not with the others (Rodrik, Gared...) Episode 4 the last sentence to Lord Andros : Don't get bloody dramatic. I'm just getting started.
I had chills. I was so hyped by her epicness !
I like Asher because of his cute grin and because there are a lot of action within his storyline.
Gared is boring with his love triangle (Finn, Cotter) but i really want to know what the North grove is and how it can be usefull for the Family. Rodrik begins to be fun because we are less trapped and we can get epic.
Get down ! Stand once again
I enjoy everyone except for Asher. Although that's not even his fault, I hate everything in and about Essos. I like his character but I don't care much for his story especially since it will never have any influence over the rest of House Forrester. Ever. Essos is where plotlines go to die. My absolute favorite is Rodrik.
I really like every charatcher in the game, but I really liken the Mira and Asher stories!! I jsut love the complexity of relationships i King's Landing and the confidence in Asher (also his friendship with Beskha.
I'm really trying my best to get that freaking army, I even didn not allowed Beskha to kill that other stupid lord and I really wanted her to kill him... Danny owns me an army I don't care what she says...
Also I'm trying to the crown to buy iron wood only rom my family but I sided with Tyrion, don't know if this is going to end well :P
My favorite is definitely Mira. There are two reasons for that: I played her as terribly defiant to everybody, and her part takes place in the best location in the game (King's Landing).

Rodrik and Asher. The Rodrik/Talia and Asher/Beskha/Gwyn relationships are great. Plus I love the North and Essos, and the two eldest brothers are assertive. I don't want to play as a kid. I feel pretty powerless.

So do I, my firend, so do I. I already dream about escaping to Meereen back with Asher, Talia, Gwyn, Beskha, Ryon to meet uncle Malcolm and Queen Daenerys Targaryen and reunite. Then help the dragon queen, slay some sons of the harpy, earn some gold, buy Talia a present. Finally serve House Targaryen and get Ironrath back. Winter is coming. The dead are coming. The cold is coming. but in Essos there's nothing of that. There's sun, a cool blonde GF (Gwyn), and Gold! And then the opportunity to recover the family's greatsword and home. If you got a Rodrik ending his bound with Talia is real sweet too, and you got Elaena. Man, I can hardly wait!
Ethan and Rodrik are my favourites. Actually when you think about it, they played out quite similarly. They were both supposedly weak lords who had to prove themselves all the while evading a siege. Why does Rodrik get all the praise while Ethan gets forgotten? I also loved playing as Mira until Episode 5.
Asher wasn't anything special for me and I was a little bored at Gared parts.

Mira. Because I love the enviroment where she is in, I love playing the Game Of Thrones in the political and social way. Also, while playing Mira, as I was in KL, that gave me the freedom to be completely dishonest, to lie to people, to use them, because that is how it is fucking done in KL, you can not expect to play the good girl and remain alive.
Gared, Rodrik, and Asher's. Not because they had action in them, I just wasn't a fan of Mira's diplomatic/social side. Her character was necessary to the story and I understand it completely, I just didn't really care for it.
Rodrik. I dreaded playing as anyone else because they're just so boring to me, while Rodrik is actually enjoyable and tense with real decisions (Arthur dies, can lose marriage, can be killed by Whitehills, Lord of Ironrath, etc)
I loved all of the POV characters from the series. I think Gared's story was strong to begin with, although I'm almost completely unattached to the plot at the Wall. Ethan's screentime was too short for me to develop an emotional attachment to him, and I wasn't surprised by his death (although Talia's ballad was moving).
This is actually a hard one for me. When I first read the title of this thread, I automatically think Rodrik, because he is my absolute favorite character. But then I remind myself that your question is really about our "favorite characters to play" rather than simply "favorite characters". And upon some thinking I realize it's hard to give a straightforward answer.
Like I said, I love love love love Rodrik, but his story is so depressing and rage-inducing that it was torturous to play. I definitely cannot say that I did not enjoy playing as him because I, as well as most human beings I know, have a bit of an emotional masochist in me that causes me to gravitate towards stories that tear at my feels. Besides, Rodrik is such a great character and whenever I play as him I'm always looking forward to an opportunity to annihilate the Whitehills and give him the justice he so deserves.
I've found that Mira's story (at least parts of it) gives me a similar feel. Only rather than depressing, I find "suffocating" to be a better word to describe Mira's situation. Yet the game does it so well that it comes out extremely engaging. I'm embarrassed to tell you how much time I spent deciding whether to choose to declare fealty to Cersei or Margaery.
But the one character that I most frequently look forward to playing when I'm currently playing another character, is Gared. When the loading screen with the little ironwood tree pops up, I so very often catch myself praying:"Please let the next chapter be Gared's! I need me some Gared!" I believe the reason is that his story is considerably more light-hearted than any other character's, which makes it the perfect buffer for the emotional train wreck that other characters' stories have caused. What's more, it puts in some good action sequences that keeps me entertained just before I can find the story's slow-movingness a problem. So I guess my real answer to this thread's question is Gared, lol. But he is my favorite character to play mostly because his pov serves as a much needed breather usually ingeniously set after some very emotionally draining povs, and in my opinion, Gared's story is, judged on its own, nowhere near as interesting as Rodrik's, Mira's, or Asher's.
Without a doubt Mira. While her whole story line was made to feel like pointless filler in the end, I still enjoyed playing her story line. While playing as her it at least felt like you were trying to help improve the situation for your family and fight back, either trying to play Mira as a totally loyal and honourable person or being more of a cunning schemer. Don't forget that Mira was in King's Landing by herself, she didn't have mummy dearest to hold her hand, if anything she was using Mira as a crutch.

GARED!
Why?
nuff said
You mean this one?
yeah and some actions/options of him are just lol. he's the cool guy and a little bit badass i guess

Anyone but Mira for me. Her storyline bores me more than the others. Asher, Gared and Rodrik are really fun to play with.
Only Rodrik is kinda fun.
I loved playing as Ethan, but no one seems to agree.
And those are my favorites too. Agreed on everything.

And awesome, we have good taste lol.

Gared and Asher
the fight scenes with Asher is so fun,and i like very much the night watch

I hope we'll soon beat the shit outta them all !

How did you find this thread?!
King's Landing, its nasty intrigues, traitors, lies, threats, rats make me sick. It's nothing like an honest fight in the North.
Asher without a doubt.
Rodrik and Asher. The Rodrik/Talia and Asher/Beskha/Gwyn relationships are great. Plus I love the North and Essos, and the two eldest brothers are assertive. I don't want to play as a kid. I feel pretty powerless.
All of them
I want Rodrik and Asher to stay as the main protagonist in Season 2. I really feel that this whole game series is their story.
So do I, my firend, so do I. I already dream about escaping to Meereen back with Asher, Talia, Gwyn, Beskha, Ryon to meet uncle Malcolm and Queen Daenerys Targaryen and reunite. I personally love playing as Rodrik. Just because hes a legend.
Rodrik Fucking Forrester.
I must have missed the incest part of the story, which chapter must I replay?
