Games that uses the Telltale formula
I've asked this before, but got stupid answers.
Well, any games? Such as Life is Strange or 1979 Revolution (It crashed on my pc when I pressed play so couldn't play it)
Thanks for any serious answers.

The Kings Quest reboot is the first game that comes to mind. Even better, that game has puzzles as well.
AJ needs some formula.
Oxenfree kind of emulates it, as a choice-based 2.5D spoooky game.
Isn't this the person that asked the same question before and said kings quest was too hard
A game that uses a choice-based system is not 'using the Telltale formula,' they're using the 'choice-based formula.' Telltale didn't make choice-based games.
I was going to say a couple, but since your the guy who is extremely picky. I got nothing you would like.
Oh yeah, they said they were 15 minutes in and the puzzles were too hard or something. 15 minutes in was still the tutorial lol.
Eh.
I wasn't in the best mood during that time, I'll be honest.
Telltale started this trent. Older choice based formula never had been like telltale's
Guess that's why I find it hard to find a friend I can really relate to IRL. I do have many but not many I can relate to. xD
Fair enough.
The Descendant is an example, I believe. I remember someone posting that here a while ago. And there's also Firewatch.
The Descendant gives off much of telltale's Jurrasic Park vibe.
There's still Firewatch. Probably one of the best games released this year.
How so? There's like 4 times in both episodes combined that involve any form of QTE's and you can actually move around the environment. There's puzzle solving but its as braindead as it gets (although there are some cool timed dialogue puzzles that I enjoyed). Its not a great game (especially episode 1). but episode 2 showed a lot of promise. If you were to get it I would wait till at least episode 3 or 4 is out.
Uncharted 4 and TLOU Left Behind
Well, BioWare games have this. Making important decisions and carrying the save files into next games. I love Mass Effect and Dragon Age for that.
But they're not episodic and each game is a full RPG with around 20 or so hours of gameplay
I was about to say that. Oxenfree is a fantastic game.
Don't forget to mention to get the Complete Collection if you want the Epilogue
Well episodic choice-based formula is TTG's thing, however, I'd say that BioWare is more of the pioneer for choice-based gaming, Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect are heavily choice-based games and they were released before TTG's The Walking Dead Game - which made the company as popular as it is now.
Jade Empire, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Series, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Gate Series, Dragon Age Series, Mass Effect Series, Until Dawn, MANY VISUAL NOVELS(Such as Choice of Robots), Dreamfall Chapters, Sorcery, Oxenfree, King's Quest, The Descendant, Undertale, Deus Ex Series, The Banner Saga, Spec Ops: The Line etc. although allot of these aren't exactly like TTG's games. You can easily find some choice-based narrative/RPG games on Steam and there are quite allot of fun free ones too.
The Mass Effect trilogy will always outshine all telltale games in my eyes, they've got actual gameplay AND the choices matter. What's not to like?
Yeah, that's true. In that aspect ME is better.
Sherlock The Devil's Daughter, Crime and Punishments and Testament uses choices and the examine stuff like that. Being able to choose your ending and choose which clues connect to what
Oh, I was unaware that there were even Sherlock games! Thanks for this information ^-^
No problem . I just completed Devil's Daughter for the 100th time and was like I SHOULD WRITE ABOUT THIS lol
In a way... The Stanley Parable. I mean, hey, it's got the choices portion of it!
So we should probably pin down an (un)official TellTale formula for reference here. For example; Point and click, decision based (post 2012 TellTale that is), episodic releases. Secondary points to puzzles and/or it being licensed (sorry TellTale, but the last purely original thing you did was what? Puzzle Agent?).
Perfect example which you've already listed would be Life Is Strange. I mean it copied the entire TellTale style pretty much word for word (and even some of the little things. Bottle target practice anyone?). All it needed was a can of Banang in the background and it would qualify as an official TellTale game.
Also; not so much a formula steal but I think we can all agree that Fallout 4 totally ripped of the individual option for each button design dialogue system, yet somehow managed to do it oh so much worse.
Hate newspapers
Just because the game has choices doesn't mean it is "Telltale style". In fact the reason why Life Is Strange gained a lot more attention was because it wasn't a Telltale style game. You can easily say that TTG made episodic games a lot more of a prominent means to go for some devs. At the same time a lot of people think TTG has regressed since TWD S1 and that LIS was more of the resurgence of the "episodic choice based" genre.
Well, if you're fan of "RPG shooters" with choices that matter, Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas are your best bet, however I do recommend Fallout: New Vegas most, since it does almost every aspect better than Fallout 3.
I'd recommend you Fallout 4, too, but since you said a lot of times that your PC can't handle games that are too polished, I just can't recommend it at all, unless you're a fan of low FPS.
