TellTale FINALLY gave fans what we desired
Admit it, we all had been wishing for an intimate scene by TTG, and they finally gave it to us in ep3. We had such scene in GoT but that was not even close to what we saw in ep3. We tried Rhysha and we failed. But wow didnt ttg nail their first such scene that too with Selina and Bruce.
I just caught up on the series and am now ready for ep4 (because of late android release). I dont know if this topic's been discussed before, but what did you guys think of it? Your review?

I liked the sex scene its defintley the most we have ever gotten out of telltale when it comes to romantic relationships. and I think thats a good sigh for future telltale games with M ratings so im very excited . the only thing that bothers me is that there dosent seem to be that much of a diffrence with selinas behavior even when you dont save her. she still saves you and sleeps with you and if you offer her to to stay at the manor with you she accpets the only thing I see is a diffrence of dialouge.
Nope, never wished for it. Hell, I was part of the 9% who didn't partake in it. Sex scenes in videogames cause adults to act like children. It's like sex is a taboo for some people and when they see it in a videogame it's like they never seen it before.
Came along way from this
Agreed
After that final shot of the door closing, with her cat looking on...
I thought TT did a marvelous job highlighting their intimacy without it being gratuitous and making me feel like a creepy voyeur.
I also love that it's Selina who initiates, and that it's all 100% your choice what happens.
Lastly, it's also cool that they went further than just having them make out on the couch before fading to black. That tells me that A) TT sees me as a mature audience who can handle what I choose to see (thank you), and B ) they're willing to let the fans enjoy some fun, extra romance elements even if they don't add to the overall plot. Because some fans (ahem) crave more positive examples of that sort of stuff in media.
And! Lastly lastly, in terms of pacing, it was a good measure of fun and calm after a stressful night, and before Hurricane Harvey.
My only gripe is Bruce complaining about her choice of takeout the morning after. Who doesn't crave cheap, shitty Chinese food every once in a while? But then I remember that he's probably got rich tastes
Im also glad that so far the relationship seems entirely in our hands, lets hope it stays that way and doesnt become what happened last time Telltale tried romance.
Yeah, like bigby beauty and rhys fiona
Yeah, most games dont usually go even that far and taken that this was ttg's first try, they did an amazing job
Yeah, agreed. Obviously most of the players will try to kiss in ep2 and have sex in ep3, this may continue in ep4, we saw a kiss in trailer already
Haha
Exactly! But now you've made me nervous...
brb, stapling rug to the floor
Scene's overated imo. I was more excited in "Pudding and Pie".
Ummm...nope
Yes, I was.
She really does not seem thrilled by Bruce's offer no matter what choice you made during the whole of Episode 3 and Episode 2. Nor Bruce nor Selina have clearly and openly declared their loves either, it felt really strange from a writing point of view. When you sleep with someone the least you can do is to politely ask what that means.
I wonder what brings her to stay in Gotham and the change in attitude depending on Ep3 choices, in Ep4 I naively assume Bruce will ask the question : "why did you stay here ? It's a mess out there."
Thank you so much. Designing that scene was a lot of fun, and the writers knocked it out of the park
Indeed! I bet every ttg fan was amazed at that scene because you guys nailed it in your first attempt. Thank YOU all for doing this (specially b/w Selina and Bruce) any more such scenes in any of your games are welcome
The best thing was it was optional to do it, so SOME of the users who dont like that in a game can choose not to do it...
But as Jason (Penguin's voice actor) said in Unmasked ep4, WHO WOULDNT DO IT!?
And this
And GoTS1 ep4
We were going for something very different than pudding n pie. That scene in wolf was meant (from what I understand, I didn't work on the game) to feel voyeuristic (you were watching a professional stripper pole dance half naked), whereas this scene in batman was about two people connecting on a philosophical level & possibly expressing that through romance/ sex (possibly sleeping with a person who was initiating physical touch). It's totally OK that you preferred the former. That's how opinions work thanks for playing telltale games!
Bet it was ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Yeah, I always sort of had a thing for Batman and Catwoman actually getting together. It was a welcome surprise I guess.
I think it wasn't so much Bruce being a snob as just further highlighting that her life isn't all that fulfilling. Despite the thrills she gets from being a globe-trotting cat burglar her apartment (though nice) is sparsely furnished and she doesn't have much in the way of luxuries or creature comforts. She doesn't have a whole lot to show for it. She also has dialogue that indicates she's lonely and has some self-esteem issues, both a consequence of the life she's been leading. Bruce has to remind her that being a thief isn't all she is.
It's just there to establish a foundation for her on-going pivot towards being one of the good-guys, or at least, an anti-hero.
Or at least that was my impression. Maybe one of the Telltale folks that occasionally lurk will weigh in if I'm wrong.
That's very true-- it did match up with the drabness of her home, her fridge, her life. So yeah, I understand it was a deliberate choice that added to the picture. Still, my visceral reaction my first go around was "WTF is wrong with lo mein every once in a while? It ain't like she got kitchen staff, Mr. Richie Rich."
But again, while I can't recall his exact words, I remember thinking that Bruce's observations reflected a little bit on him, too.
¯_(ツ)_/¯
It's less about what I intended, and more about what you got out of it. Seems like everyone has a slightly different take- all of which helped you learn more about both Bruce and Selina. So I'd say my job here is done.
Once Batman in finished, and if you or other TT staff ever had the time or desire, I would be RAPT to hear more details like this about some of the creative process that went into building these scenes. My silly wish? Something like an AMA event, but minus the chaotic free-for-all. While Unmasked is does a fine job, I'm just a glutton for this stuff.
Side note: Why am I all of a sudden thinking about that switcheroo gif, only it's Bruce workin' the pole instead of Bigby
edit: can't english
A fine job it was!
Back when Tales from the Borderlands was happening there was a pretty cool AMA on the forums, Id actually love it if Telltale did that after ever series to be honest.
There was also these cool cast interview questions that's tooootally still happening
Awesome. You've nonetheless given this noob some hope
RIGHT!
That Pudding&Pie scene was fantastic. It felt vouyeristic, and the way Nerissa looks with hate Georgie communicates a lot. I loved a lot that episode (and the whole game), and I sincerily miss the writing skills of Dave Grossman.
Fortunately Nicole is still at Telltale.
It sure was..for everyone
Except Harvey.
