Holy cow this was the best Tell Tale game to date.

Walking Dead Season 1 got me into Tell Tale and I thought that nothing could top it until I played this series. You could swear that I was Ric Flair by all of the whoos, lol. I was drinking by the end and when Alfred and Bruce gave a toast, I raised my beer can and then drank when they did. I love Walking Dead, yet I love Batman more due to it being more emotional to me as it could happen in real life more than a zombie apocalypse. It had an epic ending, wow that final fight was all incredible. The main villain was incredibly written well. Excuse me, I'm going to change my avatar now. I'm more hyped up for Season 3 of Walking Dead now more than ever as I see Tell Tale better than ever now.

Yeah, I haven't been disappointed by a Telltale game since playing Walking Dead 1. Sure some are better than others but all of very fun to play. Walking Dead season 1 is still my favorite but Batman is now my #2 favorite.

  • FPS drop cough cough...

  • You are really going to compare graphics issues to all the complaints people have had on other Telltale games? Really?

  • That fight scene at the end was the greatest action scene Telltale has ever done. Just absolutely jaw dropping.

It was just incredibly well done. I expected another good Tell Tale game, yet it seems that they have really stepped their game up recently more than ever. I was really disappointed with Walking Dead Season 2, yet Wolf Among Us was amazing. Then the next year rolled around with Tales from the borderlands and Game of Thrones. I played both and Life is Strange (which is made by Don't Nod and it was incredible) that year and was basically saying "You're starting to lose me TT" Then out of nowhere, Michonne mini series was a smash hit, then Minecraft Story Mode, and now Batman. They have really pulled me in and I absolutely cannot wait for Season 3 Walking Dead. I can almost guarantee that there will be a Wolf among us 2 next year and within a few years I look forward to a season 2 of Batman. That ending with John laughing almost made me fall off of the couch.

  • That was a badass scene

  • I like Batman, but Tales from the Borderlands is still the best for me.

  • I liked it, but i'd still put a couple of games ahead of it.

  • This became my third favourite Telltale game.

  • Yeah I started playing since season 1 of the walking dead and I have loved all the games that have came out since and yes some are better than others but they are still great games but Batman is such a good game from the story to the choices to the gameplay!. TellTale really stepped up with this and it gets me totally pumped up for the new season for walking dead! :D

  • I was pleasantly surprised to see it had several strong moments, especially in this episode, but it had weak ones too. TWD, TWAU, and TFTB were all consistently good in consistently good in comparison.

  • Well, yeah, we are discussing the game, not the story and the writing, here we could name how terrible is the fact that you need to press Shift + E in the fights.

  • Nah, respectfully disagreeing. The performance issues killed some of it's buzz for me, Selina's writing, among other things doesn't put it #1, but it's solidly behind TWD & Wolf.

  • I like Selina's writing...definitely in keeping with the character over the years....plush she sent me a hang in there kitty post card.

The story and writing is what drives tt games. And also that's a pc only problem.

  • It surely had the best final boss fight in a Telltale game to date.

  • I've only touched the entirety of the Walking Dead series, The Wolf Among Us, and Batman, so I'm not as apt at declaring what I think the best Telltale game is. Even so, I feel that Batman may just be tied for first place with the Walking Dead Season 1 for me. Both are very different experiences, but at their core, there's a lot of emotion and heart, and I just can't put one over the other. Both have amazing characters and engrossing plots, and both are just phenomenal games overall. I'm not the biggest fan of using a number rating, so overall, with everything (from Season one) completely concluded and with nothing left for debate, I must say that things wrapped up near-perfectly. There were a few bumps along the way, sure, but there's not much I would want to be changed, if anything. This is just what I feel, of course.

  • You are so wrong, the graphics, the gameplay, the immersion, not only having a good plot makes a game "good".

If you want a good story, read a book, since is everything you seem to care about in a game.

There is a reason these are called story driven games. I don't really see why you get worked up over graphics since every telltale game has had some graphics issue. We are playing what is basically a complete early access of each episode before the release. Patches are sent during, after and sometimes in the release of episodes.

Also you have a very limited and incorrect view of life if you think books are the only place that story is the focus.

  • She did me as well, I just wish things would have been different, and we actually get closure that Bruce started as a con, but it grew into a lot more. We get hinted at that, but not full confirmation. I'm still pushing for her in Season 2.

  • Yeah...she has to be back.

  • I thought Batman certainly was very well done and one of the best, but I'd still take Game of Thrones and The Wolf Among Us over it.

    Holy cow, it wasn't.

  • I agree. It was so incredible!

  • I'll admit this Episode 5 was one of the best Season Finales in a long time for TT but I had to redo parts of it over and over because the game kept crashing.

It's certainly up there but I'm not quite sure if I can put it above TWAU. I genuinely am unsure. I'm a huge Batman so I thought I might prefer it over all Telltale's other games but TWAU was such a new and rich experience for me. TWD: S1 is great too, just not quite on the same level as TWAU or Batman for me.

Fuck it - they are tied for first.
(TWD: S1 at a close second).

I enjoyed the writing of Selena. The fact that she cons rich men for money was an incredible moment. The illusion choice that is in most TT games didn't hit me in this game. I look forward to season 2 and with Selena as a villain Catwoman again, I know that there will be difficult choice moments. Such as let the cops arrest her or let her go. Selena actually made me cry as I was so attached to her. I pretended that the storyline took place over the course of three-four months. I loved how well written Lady Arkham, Alfred, Bruce\Batman, Harvey, and Selena was. My heart was pounding when Lady had Alfred as a hostage. I was nearly in tears when I discovered blood that was from Alfred. I felt helpless when she was beating him on the monitor. The final fight was, wow no words, 10/10 perfect. At times I felt sorry for Vale. The Oswald writing was incredible, I felt bad for Harvey at times. The writing was magnificent. I loved the Alfred parts the most and I always told him that I loved him and I hugged him whenever I could.

I can be very critical of writing as I have written numerous stories over the last few years. When I review the writing of something, I can come across like Ramsey at times when I review professional writing. The writing ruined Tales from the Borderlands, Game of Thrones, and Walking Dead Season 2 for me. You can almost here me scream in a Scottish voice "It's Rotten !" Lol. I started writing these stories nearly six years ago and since then I have received a few awards for storytelling and positive online reviews. Story telling and writing are very important to me.
