Besides the red screen of HELL from PS2, I think there is one game that gave me nightmare as a kid.

One day, I watched my cousin play a PlayStation 1 game called Juggernaut. The story is about a girl who is possessed. In order to save her, the boyfriend journey into her mind in order to drive the devil off her.

There is quite a bit of jumpscare and disturbing scenes when I saw it as a kid.

  • WTF that is freaking creepy I stopped 5 seconds in

"Mario games are the most kid friendly games there are" Super Paper Mario though.... "Save us please"

  • You certainly wouldn't expect it an a rated E game.

  • Hmm... let me think...

Rule of rose, Seaman, some flash games I don't remember, that one TGT played with the guy who rips out his blood vessel, Abe's Oddysey (I think, IDK), and... there's another one that I can't remember right now, but I know it was a game geared towards kids.

  • How many of you remember a game called "Indigo Prophecy?" It was really cool, the graphics were tight, and the storyline was literally out of this World, but the part where you get trapped inside a pitch black insane asylum freaked me out so much that I always check underneath my bed before I fall asleep.

  • The stuff of nightmares...

  • Earthbound. This final boss was inspired by a developer's memory of a "rape scene" that they walked in on as a kid, there was a whole theory about the boss being a parallel to abortion, etc.

Also, Psychonauts. Basically, you're a kid at a summer camp for psychics, and one of the counselors lets you enter her mind, which she's fashioned to be a sort of dance party where you learn how to control your powers. If you slip into a little nook, you find an uncharacteristically dark little area that suggests that she used to run an orphanage. The rest is kinda fucked up.

  • This x 1000.
    Gave me too many nightmares.

    A New Frontier

  • Funny enough, I had a nightmare similar to yours lol. I recently played Batman: Arkham Origins for the first time and there's this part in the story mode where you have to take Bane down after he is super jacked up on Venom. He's losing his shit and you barely have enough time to hide in vents, etc. I had a nightmare I pissed Bane off and was in the same setting and had to hide from him - was terrifying for some reason. xD

I remember when I first played Batman: Arkham Asylum, and I kept having nightmares of being in Killer Croc's lair while being chased by Croc, and then eventually getting eaten. Had that nightmare for weeks.

I never did understand why the Arkham games were never classified as horror games.

It's not a game but I just have to share it with someone.

We had a dvd player at home and I used to watch a lot of cartoons on it. But this intro was soooo horrifying! I would run away to the other room when it would happen because the music made me feel scared. This thing was the biggest fear of my childhood, really.

    That is Strange

  • I don't really have nightmares related to video games, but I can name a few exceptions.

I remember that in one dream, the pigs from Amnesia: Machine for Pigs chased me in a long dark corridor (I fuckin hate long dark corridors) and I think I had a nightmare about The Crooked Man from the horror game with the same name.

Also since I'm arachnophobic as fuck I tend to have nightmares about spiders, and those are the scariest for me. I tend to avoid huge spiders in games because of that. That's why I'll never play Skyrim.

  • WW II combat road to berlin

It was the first game i played it in my Childhood its a world war 2 game not so popular but I enjoyed it but man those Scenes of war and terror and soundtarks are so scary I couldn't sleep at all at night becouse of it

  • Silent Hill, those little monsters called the Grey Child, for awhile I had dreams where they attacked me with their knives.
