The perfect villain for the sequel??

I know that is more likely that the villain of season 2 will be the Joker...But that sucks for me...Not only I didn't liked how the character was personified in season 1...but I also think the overused of him in Batman stories is becoming a problem...

In my opnion they should focus on the Detective side of batman in the next game, and improve the detective work mechanics...So to make that happen the perfect villain would have to be The Riddler!! Not only we could have more mystery and difficult choices in the story...but also enjoy this side of Batman that I think it is perfect for a Telltale game to explore.

Or I don't know...Maybe creat another new villain, made fully with the purpose of to take advantage of difficult choices??

Who do you guys think is the perfect villain for the sequel???

  • Honestly I'm pretty bummed Joker is shaping up to be the main ennemy in season two. In my opinion Batman's most formidable foe is Ra's Al Ghul. I would absolutely LOVE to see Telltale writers tackle such character and I could see some very interesting possibilities with Talia as a romantic interest. Batman torn between his love and his duties.

Not very original sure but the potential is there.

  • Talia as a romantic interest

I still think they need to do more with Selina Kyle/Catwoman, she was definitely the highlight of Telltales Batman for me, but she just felt sort of wasted, like she was there to be romanced by Bruce, and tick off Harvey, and then she just completely disappeared out of the story.

I really hope that the ending scene with Selina means that we get to see alot more Catwoman in a potential second season

  • I can't disagree the characterization effort is indeed praiseworthy, and I would not mind seeing more of her, but as far as romance is concerned she is out after her condescending and downright inconsiderate attitude in episode 5 (the tone she took was unbearable there is almost no way I'm going to bother with her next season).
You know what happens when you invest emotionally in someone like her ? You become a wreck like Harvey.

Telltale writers may have intended her as a scary cautionary tale. It certainly fits what has been shown thus far.

Talia due to her status, her father and the feelings for Bruce has very good potential. Sadly I don't see Al Ghul featuring in season two as this foe rooms way too large in the Batman mythos to be treated as "secondary" villain. Unless we've been tricked from the beginning and Joker is merely a pawn.

    Interesting to ponder.

  • Her tone in episode 5? I never found her to be particularly malicious or the like in episode 5, and she did leave Bruce with a kiss on my playthrough, I see it less as a cautionary tale, and more as a "Gradually changing Selina" to make her realize that she is not just a thief, but that she is something more

  • How she completely dismissed everything Bruce and her went through rubbed me the wrong way. I'm not a fan of femme fatales anyhow.

  • Well, thats just sort of her character, she doesnt seem to trust people, which is why I hope she has a bigger role in a potential second season, since I would like to see her character evolve

  • Bigger role why not, but I hope we will have a valid love interest for Batman. Tired of the cat.

I also throw a wild guess and say that Bane will kick our ass in season two because we can't get enough of it.

  • It's overused. And I really don't like how Catwoman has behaved in Telltale's rendition.

Time for someone else to fill the spot.

  • I guess we will just have to agree to disagree :P, I personally loved the portrayal of Catwoman in Telltales game, and I definitely wouldnt mind some more Cat on Bat action

If they do make a sequel, I would much rather see the Joker as a side villain instead of a main antagonist. I'm a little sick of him at this point and I'm glad he had a minimal role in Batman: The Telltale Series. As much as I love the Arkham games, it did get really irritating when the Joker started hogging the spotlight. Joker's a great villain, one of the best, but it starts to get a little tiring when you're putting so much emphasis on him. If they do make a second season of this game, I'd like to see Telltale take on Hugo Strange or Ra's al Ghul.

  • I'd really like to see The Riddler, personally.

Hell, I'd even settle for a Pre-Riddler Nygma cameo

I just wanna interact with my baby

  • Ugh. No. I've had my fill of shallow Nietzsche wannabes in my entertainment, thank you very much.

  • I can see it as a cameo but not a fully fledged villain in season two. Honestly considering Batman in Telltale's universe is nowhere near as experienced as in most renditions (two years in IIRC) he would likely get his ass handed to him.

Batman fights well but therein lies his weakness, as Deathstroke told him the bat trained to fight while he trained to kill.

Deathstroke is almost on par with the Joker in how overused he is as a villain. And it sickens me that he is creeping into Batman's roster when he never was a Bat-Villain to begin with. Especially given how varied and colorful Batman's Rogue Gallery is. I'm for The Joker, but if I could have a choice: Hush. Or The Riddler. I agree with the Batman Detective assessment.

  • Hush could really fuck with Batman's mind something fierce, like in the Heart of Hush storyline.

By the way it's quite clear that Joker is going to try to hurt Bruce by using Selina like Hush would, he wants to break our mind.

  • Just give me Poison Ivy!

  • How about Mr. Freeze? Personally I think he's a criminally under utilized villain. Just don't make him a winter themed terminator that talks in ice puns. Make him the compelling villain he's meant to be; relateable but hateable. Hell, you could use him as a side villain. But it would be fun to see him in the TellTale Batman world (if done right).

  • Honestly, I would love a Batman game with the Riddler as the main villian. It's never been done before and I think it would be great.

  • I'd like to see the riddeler or Bane as a main villain.

  • Totally possible. Deathstroke is within the DC canon the most skilled assassin there is so pitting him against the dark knight could be one of many narrative arcs Telltale could play with.

One can easily imagine the choice resulting in Batman defeating him : handing him to the police relatively unscathed knowing full well that the man has connections and is also a master escaspist, or to put him out of commission for good by running over his legs with the car.

I'd like to be faced with such choice. He would certainly come under fire for such act of barbary but at the same time tough decisions have to be made to ensure Gotham's safety.

I dread to think the shit Alfred is going to give Bruce for that though. "This is not what you are".

FINALLY! I love Mr. Freeze and it's frustrating to see how underrated he is. Guy has a tragic backstory and tons of potential, can someone actually make him a developed villain? He was pretty good in Arkham games but I feel liek he'd fit well in Telltale's Batman.

  • That would be a bit much. You ever heard the old saying, "too many cooks in the kitchen". The more Villains you but into the story the harder it is to keep it organized and flowing smoothly. The Court of Owls would better serve as the secondary threat that is foreshadowed and built upon as the season goes and finally revealed to be the real threat at the very end of the season; setting them up to be the main threat for the next season. Or, have the Court be the ONLY threat. I don't know enough about the Court to really say much, but I do know they are a large organization of the wealthy elite of Gotham who want to keep control. This is just me though.

  • The next villain should be spiderman

  • Very good points. I already thought the story in the first season was somewhat undermined by too many villains. The Joker steals the spotlight starting episode 4.

Only two major villains is enough, give them ample screen time to shine. I felt Lady Arkham was too hastily put aside for instance.

  • It's pretty much confirmed Joker will be in Season Two, but I don't know if he'll be the main villain. I wouldn't mind if Scarecrow or Riddler are the main villains next season.

  • The way he's been teased there is little room for somebody else. Obviously we can expect him to "team up" with other foes to make our life hell.

  • I think the Joker should take on a different role in S2. While someone else could be the major antagonist, the Joker could become the devil in Batman's shoulder (Alfred being the angel). It would be up to the player whether Batman/Bruce succumbs to the Joker's "guidance" or not.
