Batman: Replayability unlike any other Telltale game.

I don't even know if Telltale reads these. But God, I hope they do.

But I think some people will agree when I say that season 1 of Batman: The Telltale Series was the most replayable game that Telltale has ever done.
Now, I'm gonna go on a spoiler spree. So if you haven't played Batman Season 1, Guardians of the Galaxy, or Borderlands, turn and run... And then play those games.

Anyway...
Those games that I listed... There's NEVER a reason to pick a different choice when you're replaying the game.
I tried replaying all of them. But the whole time I was thinking "I don't wanna sacrifice Loader bot... I don't wanna be a dick to this person." or "I chose this different thing. And now nothing is different, except all the characters are mad at me."
And it's like that for all of them.

I think the worst offender has to be episode 2 of Guardians of the Galaxy.
Don't get me wrong, I really liked the episode.
But there's a specific part where the game makes a big deal out of how you can either capture Nebula, or get Rocket Raccoon's backstory.
If you pick Rocket, you get that scene first then go get Nebula.
If you pick Nebula, you get that scene first then go get Rocket's back story.
It's bullshit.

Meanwhile in Batman... You wanna save your house or your tech. You wanna save Harvey or Selina.
You're getting different scenes. Actual different content. There are things you completely miss if you pick one over the other.
Heck, even Harvey, which loses it either way, acts really different depending on how burnt he is.

Not just that... But most of the choices you were given, no matter how conflicting they were, were all in-character.
Most choices were valid in their own way. And there weren't a lot of times where Batman acted out-of-character because the player chose to be a dick.

So please, Telltale... If you're listening. Please don't back down and make some tame shit.
I wanna solve some God damned riddles, ones that I can actually fail. Don't act like you haven't made some real choices before.

And if you are listening... Maybe hook a brother up with Strong Bad season 2.

    It's bullshit.

But that's not the main change. You can either have a cool hand to hand capture at the Collector's or space fight with the Nova Corp depending on your decision to capture Nebula now or help Rocket out. Rocket's story is too crucial to just leave abandon to specific players, and his personality is still reflected by that choice, especially if you agree to delay Nebula's capture, but then change your mind as soon as Gamora asks.

  • But that's like 2 damned minutes.

    Who cares if it's 'Crucial.'
If they didn't want the player to miss it, they shouldn't have given the player the choice.

  • It really sounds like you didn't bother to check the alternate outcome. While I do agree Batman's branching is well done, no reason to nark on Guardians when it doesn't do anything particularly wrong.

Actually, apart from that choice, I've found Guardians to be Telltale's most replayable. And most enjoyable to replay.
I find so many extra lines characters say because they remembered a previous decision or dialogue choice of yours. There are a good number of choices to experiment with and order of paths to take. I love how you can promise to do a certain thing, but the game doesn't lock your choice and you still get the option later if you change your mind.

Batman is pretty replayable, too but mostly only for the one or two choices... But I find Guardians more enjoyable to replay. Maybe it's just less of those Bat-computer sequences and more character interaction that I find appealing. Or the various order of events to do, that were still affected by previous choices (Halfworld/Nebula choice in the Nova Corps run is different than in the Collector run)

  • Nah...Tales is the most replayble...All Telltale's games you have something a little different at best.

But sinse Tales you actually can have different scenerios that doesn't change much but have different set of jokes, you can actually go back pick soemthing different and still have a good time.

And I do hope they do a second season because of that...
