Worth buying? (Don't Spoil)

So I want to buy the game but on the other hand I'm not sure if it'll flop completely.
Was Ep 1 good? Should I buy it?

  • Do you mean Season 1 or Season 2?

  • Actually I enjoyed it, 1-hour preview and the other trailer that released in 3th August makes it more excited. You should buy it.

  • 2 duh.

  • Episode 1 of Season 1 is free so I guess he is talking about s2.

  • I figured as much - just wanted to double check to be sure.

In which case, yes, it's definitely worth buying based on the Let's Play footage on YouTube. It seems like a step above Season 1 and looks to be more revolved around telling its own original story this time around, instead of relying on plot twists to Batman canon like Season 1 did.

Me personally? I'd say its worth it... although that probably doesn't come as a big surprise, for relatively obvious reasons. Of course, I'd always advise a person to use their best judgement. If you liked the first season of this game, or at the very least saw it as having potential, then I'd say it's worth taking the plunge. If you're hesitant about it (and understandably so, especially after some of Telltale's recent outings), then you're better off either waiting a few days more until there's more reviews/impressions out there, or just watch a video or two about it, get an idea of what you're going in to.

While it's a good question to ask other people if they think something's worth it, to get some idea of what the general consensus is, it should still be your own choice in the end. If a lot of people tell you to go for it, it's probably still best to approach it with some caution. I mean, sometimes there's things that everyone else seems to like, but you simply don't. And you never really know when it's gonna be one of those situations.

So, bottom line: if you're a bit hesitant about Telltale after some of their recent titles, I'd give it a few more days for some of the reviews and what such to start coming out. Make an informed decision based off of that.

If you liked S1, thought S1 had potential, or are feeling relatively optimistic about things overall, then I'd take the risk and go for it.

  • Yes, definitely worth it. One of the best Telltale episodes I've played in recent time, better than S1E1 of Batman in my opinion, and that was a good episode. This was fantastic.

  • I agree; I personally have pretty high regard for this episode going off of what I saw on YouTube play-throughs, and in terms of premiere episodes for modern Telltale games, I would place it only beneath Walking Dead Season 1, Wolf, and Tales.

  • How long is the episode?

  • 2 hours, give or take

  • Well worth the scratch!

  • I mean, I really enjoyed the first season, so I pre-ordered it, but I'm pleased with my purchase. I thought it was great, and there are some surprises in there. The gameplay's evolved a bit too (though I missed the pre-planning aspect from last season). You'll make more combat choices on the fly though, which was fun.
