I do recall, around the launch of Season 1 Episode 5, they did a massive back-end update on Season 1 to optimize the files that was a big download. If you previously did not already have that update, that might be what you are downloading.
My friend and I just got this update. We have no idea why this is happening. We stopped the update and won't update it until telltale tell us what's going on
It looks like Telltale changed something that caused the whole game to download again.

Everyone says that they lost their progress after the update here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/498240/discussions/0/1471967615861298740/?ctp=1
Is there any way to save progress after the update. (I already connected telltale cloud but it doesnt work correctly. I finished episode 3 but telltale cloud says me i didn't even play the first episode...)
Ok then i will stop the installation ! If my games are saved in the cloud, am i safe ?
N/A
I don't think you need a full system restore, i just checked myself and it looks like the update changed the save directory and created a new "Batman" folder.
You will just need to go into your Telltale save folder "C:\Users\Your Name\Documents\telltale games" and copy all the files from the older called "Batman The Telltale Series" and paste them into the folder called "Batman" and replaces any files that are already there, after doing this i could access all my old saves without any issues.
Please note before doing this make a BACKUP just to be safe.
Okay. It didn't delete them then.
I haven't launched the updated game yet, so I only had the one folder.
I'm going to edit out the how-to. I don't need people blaming me for not knowing what they're doing.
Bug with Gordon in EP3 still not fixed. He still wants to arrest good Batman
That kind of ruined the immersion for me but I originally thought it was due to working with Selina, a known villain and him possibly blaming Batman for Harvey?
Changes, from what I can tell--
More graphics options were added to the settings
An 'about' option from their more recent games was added, which displays the current game/engine build
Various other performance optimizations, I'd assume
Possibly a few small-scale bug fixes, since they went back through the content archives
For all intents and purposes, the entire game was updated. Every episode, every content archive.
