One of my complaints is that there weren't enough cool detective moments. But, I'm sure we'll see more later on.
Another is how the relationship system seems to chance based on one choice.
I suggest that it should be a system based on points. Depending on the gravity of the dialogue option, it should either add or remove a point/points from your status with that person. By the end of the episode, if the value is Zero or lower, your relationship is negative. If the value is One or higher, the relationship is stable.
Oh, yes. And Riddler was pretty under-used. I expected he'd last for the whole season, as I really wanted some genius death-puzzles. But turns out he's dead now so he will never be seen or used again, unfortunately...
Next!
Riddler wasn't as well developed as I would have liked him to be. I wanted to know more about his connection with the Wayne family.
More could have been done with Riddler but I feel his death can add more to the plot. I also want some more planned fight scenes while I like how you get to choose what attacks to use I never know what any of them will do and I really liked planning my attacks in season 1 as I knew what I was doing but I also like the new combat.
Killing off the Riddler was probably necessary to get the plot moving, but I'd have liked to see more of him.
I have to echo much of what everyone else has already said. Killing the Riddler was ultimately disappointing, albeit I understand it might've been necessary for the path they were taking with the plot. But I wanted to know a lot more about him. I don't think this is made impossible to discover with his death, however depending on how much Batman is able to dive into the background of the Agency. Perhaps we'll have a chance to optionally put those detective skills to use and turn the tables - not necessarily to go against the Agency, but certainly to make them the devil you know.
I'd really like that aspect added in as an option to pursue to showcase just how much research/investigation Batman or his assistants would normally do. Granted, with Lucius gone hacking into their system would be completely out of the question. Right now. Perhaps Tiffany might be able to do a little diving for us to learn more about the monster that killed Lucius.
I'm not a hardcore fan of all the implications that John Doe already knows who Batman is, even if it is a twist on the lore. That's mostly because like Waller's information regarding it, it feels unearned at this point. This too might be resolved in future installments and I'm holding out hope that while I was trying to hide that folder, Avesta or Blake were bugging my office. That would have meant that Lucius revealed to Waller who Batman was by his last words.
I was not really thrilled with Miss Chairperson for whatever reason becoming interested in the briefcase being brought through an office building. I know these sorts of things have gone out of style in more recent times, but exactly how unusual would it be to have a briefcase as a CEO entering a building. Why does that denote a moment that would be of particular interest, and probably connect us to smuggling an item in that kills a co worker later?
I'd like more opportunities to do more as Bruce Wayne. Batman is explored in every medium that involves him. I would absolutely love for Telltale to adopt the suggestion made by someone else to allow us to explore Wayne Manor just as we can return to the Bat Cave. Hide some Easter Eggs in there, or some little interactions with Alfred. Perhaps later episodes could surprise us by having other people occasionally appear as guests.
All that aside, I can't wait for the next episode, and I'm completely behind this team to see what they do with what they've created regardless. I've been pleasantly surprised by Episode One.
As much as I dug this version of Riddler (he was so damn awesome), I was sort of relieved that he was killed considering all those so called riddles and trophies from Batman Arkham Origins, Asylum, City, and Knight...
I feel like Riddler was killed too early but other than that I had no problems, really.
i really wish they make some episode that is only centered in bruce, you know kind of going to a party, flirting with girls or something, i think our bruce needs one day off of work (all the time fighting cant be good for his health ) lol
I would want that too. But ain't happening.
I was disappointed with the some of the dialogue options that were key to the relationship and the relationship themselves. Not being able to tell Tiffany a half truth that the disc was from Riddler and you were helping Batman or telling Gordon that him knowing them, even after death puts there families at risk or even telling him that there was only two and now there's only one. Stuff like that, where your smart but not tied down to a lie or your honest but can explain yourself and navigate conversations so people aren't pissed wit you. Also upset that you couldn't speak at Lucius funeral giving a ulagy.
For the relationship, they are to simply defined. There's only three points for each character, and for four of them it's just a summary of what's already mentioned. Every positive and negative thing said should affect the relationship, and actions that people don't like should more often then not get a chance to be explained so you can maybe turn a negative into a week positive. With Tiffany and Waller I was nice/corporative too yet if I tell the truth/go after Mori their pissed with me. On that note why have multiple choice for Mori and Eli if it it changes nothing. Why doesn't one option make Gordon or Waller really happy and the other makes both adequately happy. Seriously Waller is pissed either way with Mori and is only happy if I beat up Eli. And Gordon is pissed if I only scare Eli. Also why can't I scare Mori with the missiles as well, especially when I say I'm crazier than Riddler.
I was also disappointed that most of the choices were about the mission regardless of who you are at the time. I'd like for some choices that don't affect relationships or are just one thing or another but can change the city for the better and/or give you a reputation that can work for you or you have to over come depending on the person and what kind of relationship you want to have with them. Like Bruce is a charming, playful playboy with compassion, skills and intellect that surprises people who don't know him well and Batman is a methodical sociopath who will do bad things to criminals to save live yet still cares for them and the mentally ill, as well as just having genuine kindness and compassion that only those close to him can see and believe. Stuff like that would be great.
Also like every else I'm not happy the Riddler was killed, especially when they made such a kick ass version of him. It bugs me as well that you couldn't solve any of the riddles he asked and you can't play in to a need for approval to calm him down and possibly set up a chance at redemption, even if would be stolen away a few moments later. I'm hoping he has kids who can take up the role but I'll explain more about it later when I list hopes.
For now here are a few small things. That photo they to imply that your a criminal shouldn't exist and just makes the Agency seem stupid because two of the people in the photo wanted revenge for your fathers actions and did terrible things that prove they weren't your allies, while the other was a friend who had a psychotic break after being drugged and possibly burned and who I helped to bring in by not only by saving the lives of his hostages but his own life as well.
No one saw the missile, out of the hundreds of people working in Wayne tower no saw it coming cause they were looking out a window or saw fast moving light coming towards the building? Not one report or post on social media. Hell what about the flight path, did no one in the city hear or see a missile on its way to Wayne tower? Cmon.
And finally, does two punches seem like it cause serious head trauma? That whole beat up Eli option was disappointing because 1. you did worse to that thug in S1E1, even if you just scared him. And 2. did batman never beat information out of people after that until Eli? Not to mention that all those consequences shouldn't be affecting Gordon because he was in Wallers custody, which means none of that should be a thing at all.
Oh, almost forgot, I don't think TellTale remembered how dangerous those missiles were half the time, cause when ever you mention saving life your talking about agents, not the hundreds or even thousands of innocent people at risk. Also unless the legion of doom is moving up to thermonuclear warfare I don't think there going to poses a greater threat to Gotham than Riddler.
I don't know about a whole episode but scenes where he's just maintaining or improving Bruce's standing in the city would be nice. Stuff for his life so we can space out the mission. I mean he can't even attend a funeral without something about the mission popping up( though I did love Jhon in that scene, smiling selfie is the best ).
That would make some great things to add actually if they were to provide Wayne Manor to explore the same way they have the BatCave. Not only would that allow to really enjoy the game until the next episode's release, but there'd be options for some aspects of it to appear in the main game. News reports that might pop up in the feed, the CEO mentioning a charity. I can completely understand how the creators would be concerned that something like this might kill the pacing of the main game to put too much in for Bruce Wayne, but that'd be the ideal solution.
It'd be a means of creating your Bruce's public persona. A charitable recluse. A reckless playboy. Does he have drinks and play pool with Frank in his billiards study?
Disregard this post I meant it to be a reply but posted a comment instead.
I found her suspicious way back in season 1, now even more so.
Honestly, nothing immediately comes to mind when I read the title. There's nothing that I disliked of the premiere that I could point out without first spending several minutes revising the episode. It was a pretty solid premiere.
I love the idea of exploring Wayne manor. I would also love some flashbacks to Bruce as a child or Bruce as a teenager. It would be great if they showed a scene in which Alfred is parenting a teenage Bruce.
Yep, me too! But yeah, it probably won't happen as ScootyZ said. But a balance between the two would be nice.
I am really looking forward to patching things up with Tiffany.
As others have said I would like to see the Relationship system improved upon, because it's a great concept which is lessened by most of the two possible relationship results being defined by one choice than several...
Tiffany: Whether you admit the Riddler's device killed him or not.
Iman: Whether you sacrificed Blake to save her hearing or not.
Alfred: Whether he watched Lucius' recording or not.
John: Whether you agreed to his initial request to meet his friends or not.
And then Gordon and Waller, who are turned on liking or hating you by whether you went to see Mori or Riddler's informant or not.
I'm hoping from Episode 2 there can start to be three states or relationship per character and that multiple effects can get you there.
I do not like what they're doing with the joker ...
The more I see of him the more he's losing his mad unpredictable sadistic deadly self and becoming something much less dangerous
My boy Riddler puzzel genius ded
Other than it gud.
I suppose that the riddles were so lame. Okay, yeah, I thought Riddler was annoying and kind of not as brilliant as he's supposed to be.
