As much as I love Harley, I refuse to want a romance option with a villain. I don't want another love triangle from the first season. Hell, I don't even want John Doe to turn me.
The only circumstances under which I could see Bruce or Batman flirting with Harley Quinn would be to manipulate her for information or to prevent her from harming people. No way would Bruce be attracted to an immature, emotionally unstable, amoral person like her.

I want my Bruce to stick his dick in as much crazy as possible. If that means a love triangle with Harley and Selina while John rages on the sidelines, then so be it.
Okay. So I'm only familiar with Bats from the movies. And only some of the movies. The Christian Bale , Val Kilmer, and George Clooney ones. So I wasn't aware that in the comics they had gone on a date. I am now going to include a third scenario in which he could flirt/form an attraction for Harley - the one in which she hides what a nutcase/psychopath she is. Not unlike Vicki Vale, I might had.
I'm sure the stress relief from sticking his dick into things would be good for Bruce, and boy does he need it, but I am not at all sure I want him sticking it into crazy. I just don't like crazy. Plus I can't stand her voice. I'd want to karate chop her in the throat just to shut her up. Or duct tape her mouth shut. Something.

Maybe in the game, but that wouldn't work in any other scenario. Bruce knew how unbalanced she is and still enjoyed the date/kiss because he was willing to believe that she turned over a new leaf. Harley might be unstable at times, but in the comics she's ditched the Joker and is mostly a good guy.

The only thing I'll accept is Bruce doing it under his public facade. Other than that, no. The character has already been tarnished enough in recent years, Suicide Squad especially. Treating the character like that is why a lot of people no longer like her. I want a good depiction that doesn't rely on things like this, otherwise her only notable appearance will be where she was originally created (Batman: TAS).

True, but I think it's obvious some people are insinuating they want something to develop from it. I just think that if they are actually doing something interesting with the character, it is unnecessary to put something like that in there.
Yes, she's a female, but she's also a villain. I would like more focus on the latter.
Do we know why she is so attracted to the Joker? I've read that she comes from a very dysfunctional family (though I don't know the particulars) and so maybe the sort of abuse she got from the Joker was what she either received in her own family or was what she saw as normal because of the dynamics between her parents.
John Doe says that he sees something in Bruce that makes him feel as if they might be similar - a something that makes him different from other people, to go beyond the norms dictated by society - and it may be this that Harley also finds attractive... Or not, because Bruce respects the law and works to defend the city from criminals who cause chaos and harm innocent people.
And she may reject Bruce's advances, just like Vicki did.
Do we know if Bruce knows who she is? We don't interact with her at all while Bruce is in Arkham. She's not in the codex, is she?
Also, which version of HQ are we getting? I've seen people hypothesize that this version of HQ is going to be different than previous ones; in that she is going to be the one manipulating John Doe and sort of shaping him into becoming the Joker. So instead of being a needy sycophant who lets the Joker use and abuse her, she's the one who has the power in their relationship.

I am under that impression too but I thought I might have hallucinated it. But they do have Mr. Kirkbride, who wrote some pretty weird stuff in the past, so there's that.
The only version of Harley I don't like is the Harley from the live action Suicide Squad movie. Otherwise? I like all of her other incarnations and think they do a generally good job with those portrayals. The animated series, the Injustice video games, her current character in the comics, etc.

I want to be able to flirt with almost everybody tbh
And then have them awkwardly/emphatically shut Bruce down.
A relationship is another matter entirely. That I don't really care for.
When creating a thread, it leads into good discussion when you put more in the thread than just a one-word post like "pls". It would be nice if you can add more to the main post to give people to discuss.

Yeah basically. Well, more like, I don't want Cats to have any competition. One of the best ways to sink a ship is straightforward rejection. It doesn't stop the fans from shipping (ask Gotham fans about Edward Nygma) but it makes me feel good.
I'm not usually this vicious regarding ships but BatCat is the one couple I ship since I was a kid, and I love how often it is showing up in modern Batman iterations.
All I know about her origin is from the animated series. She learned about the Joker's past through interviewing him (as she was a psychiatrist). The Joker manipulated her into feeling sympathy for him. After this manifested I think it developed into some form of stockholm syndrome. I guess she was just initially interested in him (well his mental state) and that became an obsession over time. As crazy as she became she is still trying to help the Joker in a way, or at least dislikes Batman because he tends to get in the way of the Joker's plans.
My hope is that she isn't the broken sympathetic character she once was, I want something new. I want her to be sure of her own goals and a bit more independent, I guess.

She's not in the game, but I think you're underestimating Talia when it comes to who is Bruce's true love. You know, the mother of his only biological child? Catwoman being the one true love of Bruce's life is hardly undisputed.

I'm hoping really hard that the theory about Joker and Harley's roles being inverted and her being the one who is manipulating him turns out to be true. It would be such a breath of fresh air.

Yeah, I guess I was just a bit annoyed with the Suicide Squad version. She's been alright in some animated movies, and yeah, Injustice (well, I've only played the first one). I guess I've limited myself by not reading the comics, but yeah, I just want to see Telltale do something interesting and different with her.

I am not really underestimating anything. I said ship, not love. I do not find any other Batman ships interesting in the slightest, let alone with Talia. And because I unconditionally support BatCat, I very much dislike Talia.
Doesn't matter, I'm getting more than enough BatCat material in the last decade. I absolutely love this tendency.

Yeah! More empowered women, even if they are evil! I love how noir-ish so many of the female characters in Batman are turning out to be. Or this version of Batman is...

My problem with the Suicide Squad versions of both Harley and the Joker is that their relationship was too tame on the abuse side, which made a bunch of idiotic Twilight-starved teens think that's an acceptable, romantic relationship. That absolutely irks me.

I also felt like the dream was pretty inaccurate, I don't think she would realistically dream of being mentally stable and living a normal life with kids, I think she would just want to be loved by the Joker more (if they even had an abusive relationship).
I get why they did it that way, it just didn't make much sense, at least to me.

Yeah, I believe I said that just from the image we got of her that she reminded me of Bloody Mary, so here's to hoping she'll act something like that as opposed to just looking quite evil and menacing.

Man, I'm talking about the great love interests in the history of Batman and people want to talk "ships" I've been reading comics for too long and am too old for that crap.

Guys, it's conversations like this one that make Telltale refuse to take us seriously.
I would be willing to bet that they have much weirder conversations in TellTale's HQ.

I feel like we have proof of that (maybe through a tweet or something) but I totally forget when I last saw it.
No.

Because BatCat is the one true Batman ship and I want him to keep that in mind.

It's what the thread is about. You are coming in a thread about apples talking about oranges.
I literally said "one true ship" and you took it as "one true love", as if I was saying something against canon while we are discussing fanon here.
Kind of awkward, kind of cool.
