Let’s admit it
Telltale wouldn’t have been the same anyway. Not only was the walking dead the final season the last game that was rewritten before Pete Hadley joined, it would have been the last game to use he telltale tool, this was just pure luck.

It wasn't going to be the same; how Telltale was running before wasn't sustainable. TFS was suppose to be a new beginning for Telltale... unfortunately, they ran out of time.
We've been begging them to abandon the Telltale tool to make a little less claustrophobic environments (like those in Life is Strange!) since at least 2009, so yeah. Who knows. Maybe Stranger Things would have been the much needed literal "game changer" for the studio. I and others, most of whom left around 2012-13, really looked forward to liking a Telltale game again. And that is about as much as I'll admit.
It would have been better though, Final Season was so good and such a big step forward for Telltale and was just great to play and the story and characters were great too.
The Stranger Things game had some footage leaked and it also looked like it was going to be something interesting with the whole first person hide and seek gameplay.
I can only imagine how Wolf 2 would have played and Im really bummed we wont see what they were planning to do with it. And it really sucks after seeing some devs say Wolf 2 was going to be their biggest game yet.
To be honest, I have no idea how Wolf 2 would have turned out had they adapted the "oil-paint" artstyle they used in pretty much all their recent games (I always thought Wolf's hand-drawn style is always the best fit for that series, and it might look really weird adapting other styles).
I know it's all moot now, but still I really wish they would have just continued with Wolf sequels instead of just jumping headfirst into other IPs.....Then we could have gotten perhaps 2 or even 3 seasons of Wolf.
Instead, they waited too long, and it's too late......sighs...

Haha. Gotta be honest with ya. Had zero interest in that series, and never played it.
There's some alternate reality where people are making videos about how Telltale almost went bankrupt before they're next gamechanger game saved them.
Too bad that's not the reality that we are living in.
What do you mean, "looked forward to liking a TellTale game again."? Perhaps I'm reading this wrong, but it sounds like you think there were only terrible games since then. I would have to completely disagree with this, there have been good games since season 1 of the Walking Dead, and some of those are around the same quality as season 1. I do agree that they needed to get rid of the TellTale tool sooner, would have let them develop a lot better.
A lot of people were put off by the repetition of The Walking Dead formula in every one of Telltale's games from 2014 onward (myself included). People got Telltale fatigue, and it was, unfortunately, along with the fact that many of Telltale's best designers left due to harsh working conditions, the reason that the studio closed down.
Stranger Things probably would of been a flop no matter how good it is tbh. Netflix is milking the actual story of the show as it is... It could of ended up like Guardians of the Galaxy in terms of sales using a popular ip doesn't equal instant success.
