What do you think about Christmas?
I just love Christmas. Waiting in traffic while pollution spews out of the tailpipe and the gas guage gets closer and closer to empty. Having to buy crap that will get broken seconds after being opened. All the pretty lights consuming massive amounts of energy. And dont forget the dinner paper plates paper cups and plastic silverware that will be thrown in the trash minutes after the food is gone. When everything is said and done there will be bag after bag after bag of trash at the side of the road waiting for the trip to the landfill.

Yeah, it would be nice if it actually snows during the christmas days, but it usually starts snowing in january or feburary, which sucks.
IKR.
Great holiday but I don't like the fact that everyone as a child was lied that Santa Claus exists and drops presents all over the world. I dunno, it just feels pointless.
I just want presents
There's a special atmosphere about Christmas. It gives family a reason to get together, it feels magical to the kids which makes them happy and excited, that in turn makes the parents happy and relaxed. Pretty lights all over the streets, presents, a big roast dinner with family. Personally, I love Christmas.
Uh, ever heard about having a childhood? ?
Yes and I hated how I was lied about Santa Claus. Everyone was in their childhood.
Is that not most of the joy about Christmas? Makes the whole experience so much better. Now Christmas is shit cos it’s just open presents, yay, done.
There are kids in these forums, btw, u just ruined Christmas for them ??
Just be glad you don´t live over here. We´ve got two bloody Christmases each year. First we get Sinterklaas in early december and then we get Santa Claus late december. They´re the same person, yet they´re not the same person. It´s totally ridiculous.
Best thing yet, Sinterklaas has an army of black slaves to do his bidding instead of elves, or whatever Santa Claus has.
Lucky fecker
My house doesn´t have a chimney, so I´m shit out of luck.
Busting my ass out the crapper has always done fine by me... hehehe ?
i used to love it as a kid; but anymore I seem to only enjoy seeing the younger kids enjoy it.
I remember as a kid to open all the presents; even the ones that were my little brothers lol. My mom was so pissed when she found out. I was probably 6 at the time.
remember my brother getting a pump up airplane that Christmas.
if santa isnt real then how do the presents get under the tree ?
Fucking hell, m8, you’re onto something there.
Time to start a campaign to make people see the facts ??
Edit: I take my jokes too seriously sometimes.... time to go cry in the shower ?
I love the part of giving gifts and all the food dinners, but what i dont like is before the Christmas comes all the shops are over crowed and you have to be careful to stock up with things before the shopes close then you get to relax but things just get really crazy before hands.
Wait Santa isn't real?! Fake news until we get an official statement
Nah Santa is real. My profile picture, that’ll probably get changed to something irrelevant tomorrow, is the official statement.
It's funny how much more haunting Christmas becomes over Halloween as you get older. That snow that use to be a blizzard wonderland is now just a chilling inconvenience that clogs up traffic. That jolly, altruistic fat wizard that gave little Timmy his PS3 is now the most socially acceptable lie to tell little children... which is especially ironic since the holiday celebrates the birth of a Man who was fundamentally opposed to lying Most haunting of all though, is knowing that pleasant atmosphere and the warm greetings among friends and family were only a cultural contract, and the giving nature that made the holiday so special is just another motion to go through. Christmas made you feel like you were flying, but your childhood self was really just falling with style, and now that nostalgia has shattered all over the salt-coated pavement.
Nah Christmas is great gimme presents ?
You described Christmas perfectly.
I don’t like that either, I feel it could bring distrust of kids to parents who they look up to for everything when they’re young.
I remember being distraught when I found out Santa and the tooth fairy weren’t real because my parents put so much effort to fool me. I even wrote letters to them, and got replies. When I found out, I was so upset I tore them up.
My nephews believe in Santa and when they do eventually find out I’m going to make sure to tell them the what I needed to hear: we’re all Santa. It’s better than saying there isn’t one at all.
Christmas is a lovely holiday. ?
Christmas is definitely my favourite time of year, for numerous reasons. One is the religious aspect since I am a Christian and so Christmas kinda does mean something to us... But yes, whether you believe in Baby Jesus or not there’s something nice about Carols by Candlelight and nativity scenes and the like as far as I am concerned.
Ultimately though Christmas is about kindness, family and sharing the season, and whilst I definitely have prezzies in mind I enjoy the giving as much these days. And sharing food and the whole atmosphere of Christmas. Definitely my favourite time of year.
