  • Quick google search says liquidation of a company could take from 7 days to years to complete.

It obviously won't be years. As most of the company is gone including the CEO.

Does that mean that within the next week or so is a good timetable for news from Skybound about TFS?

  • I wouldn't say its an indication either way of the status of Skybound's deal with TFS as of now. I do hope and believe that Skybound announces something concrete by Thanksgiving or the week following.

  • I guess I better download all the Telltale games to my consoles before they are gone for good.

  • I see WAU2 being made by someone else along with the stranger things game. If its being liquidated, someone will buy it and use it to finish the game and get it out so they can get their money back.

  • I highly doubt it, since there was little progress on it, and in addition the original TWAU team would have got a job by then, at this point I've already accepted (even if i don't like it) that Season two is never coming. There is also the complication of rights, they'd have to get approval from Vertigo the publisher, and tbh I think they won't be interested.

There's too much money on the table for a company to lose if they get the rights. Otherwise, it would be a waste.

  • Just to make it clear because the article states that their games are going to be removed from Steam, and it might confuse some people. Their games are not being removed from Steam in general, Valve doesn't do that as it is highly anti-consumer to those who already own the product. Their games are going to be pulled off from specifically from Steam Store, which simply means they won't be available for purchase. If you own your TTG titles on steam already, then it will stay on your account forever.

  • I think it has happened in some extremely niche cases. There was some online-only game that was pulled from download if you had bought it. It was useless when the servers went down, but still, it happened.

Also, publishers can force an update that changes the game for everyone. When the Grand Theft Auto games had music pulled, everyone now has it pulled from them regardless of when they purchased it.
