Please help me choose the Best Computer to Buy?

My boss wants me to buy a desktop that's cheaper than what I already have but when i looked at what he wants to buy it looks crappy (my current desktop is $376 bought 5 years ago)

Here are the specs.
1. What he wants to buy is around $250. But it is an HP 2nd Hand. i3 3rd generation, but only 500GB hard drive, intel HD graphics, 18.5" Monitor.
2. What I want to buy is around Acer C24-H60 (Please see the specs and looks in google). Price is $696
3. What i already have is an AMD A8 4600, AMD Radeon HD 7560D, Samsung Syncmaster 17.3" Monitor.

  • 1s RAM is 2GB, #3s RAM is 4GB

also, #1s width is about 3/4 compared to my current and it looks substandard

  • With an i3 and 2GB RAM, it's going to be really slow, but if all you use it for is word processing, simple spreadsheets, and email, it should work. Don't use it for gaming unless you're just playing Zork or something. Make sure important files are backed up.

  • i'm thinking of upgrading only my processor instead, to avoid the hassle of reinstalling softwares.

    1. is it possbile to do that? or do i need to reinstall windows, etc. if i replace my processor?
    2. and will a newer AMD processor be compatible to my motherboard?

  • **by the way, on another note, Do I need AVR for Acer Projectors? **

because for the past years i've been using AVR but my latest AVR was faulty and it does a click sound every 20 minutes and affects the projector (it displays black screen with "Still Processing Please wait"). And before the AVR finally gives up it made crackling sound and burned its socket which sticked some to the Projector's plug.

    Or Space Cadet 3D Pinball.

  • You'd have to check your motherboard manual to see what processors it's compatible with. In real life, usually when you have to think about upgrading the processor, it's time to upgrade the whole thing. The most brand-new CPUs will probably not be compatible with it.

I'm afraid I don't know anything about projectors.
