As a huge fan of the books and TV series, I can only give this 3/5 at best.
I had initially planned to do a replay so as to 100% the achievements (which were originally bugged on PC), but the thought of that now repels me. Too. Much. Tedium.
For non-fans of The Expanse, the price tag is impossible to justify for the very limited hours of play, especially that I think you are very likely NOT to want to replay it ever.
What is also clear upon completion is that a lot of stuff (scavenging, logs) has no in-game impact at all, only for achievements (which were originally bugged on PC).

I am on the same position as you mate, love the books but as long as the price tag is still higher than like 15€ probably will not dive into it.
