[SPOILER] Episode 2 question

Ok, so I'm at the Kid Tannen gunfight, and I can only get Marty to move either to the trash cans, the barrels, or the side of the police car. None of the movement keys work at this location. I did see Edna at one point for a fraction of a second, as if she appeared in a doorway or something...

I've used every hint there and it says I have to "go to the back of the police car", however the only interaction i can get out of the car is talking to Officer Parker.

Any other suggestions?

    Try talking to Kid Tannen at various locations. Sure, he'll fire at you (and miss), but it'll cause other things to happen.

    The hint made no sense to me until i realized you need to distract kid tannen from beside the police car. You pretty much make edna free herself by shouting at kid tannen.
